Revenant Claims Victory by Defeating Apex Legends' Main Antagonist

The thrilling conclusion of Kill Code's animated web series delivers a jaw-dropping twist, leaving Apex Legends fans with a myriad of thought-provoking questions

Respawn has unveiled the final episode of Kill Code, the animated Apex Legends series featuring Loba and Revenant's quests for vengeance. Titled Kill Code: Part 4, the concluding installment includes shocking twists, such as the demise of Torres "Duardo" Silva, the leader of the Mercenary Syndicate, CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals, and Octane's grandfather. In the previous mini-episode, "A Life For A Life," Loba and Revenant put aside their differences to team up against Torres Silva, who had obtained and manipulated Revenant's source code in Season 18. With the release of Kill Code: Part 4, Respawn finally unveiled the true motive behind those alterations.

The legends, after secretly tracking Octane with a GPS tracker, found their way to the location where Torres was holding Revenant's head. The plan was simple: Catch Torres off-guard, use Revenant to intimidate him into submission, retrieve the source code stored in Revenant's human head, and allow Loba to destroy it. This would fulfill Loba's desire for revenge and grant Revenant the peace of a true death after centuries of suffering.

The operation begins smoothly, with the legends entering the facility without raising any alarms. Despite Octane's displeasure at being tracked, the mission progresses without major issues. Torres attempts to negotiate, but Revenant quickly ends the conversation with his Shadow Pounce ability, seizing Torres and forcing him to comply. With Torres subdued, Revenant retrieves his head and tosses it to Loba, who begins attempting to break the glass jar with her Black Market spear.

Feeling the tables turning, the cunning CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals has an enticing proposition for Revenant.

"I believe in a person's right to shape their own fate," Torres informs the immortal assassin. "I can grant you that power. Imagine having... much more than that?"

Revenant seems to be aware of his growing abilities, as Torres remarks, "You can feel it. Great. Your enhancements are functioning as planned."

Pointing to the ceiling of the facility, Torres discloses that he has constructed his own Revenant production facility. Unlike the ones shown in previous animated Apex shorts, the hundreds of robotic shells in this factory are not intended for Revenant to respawn into when his current shell is destroyed. Instead, Torres has assembled an entire army of Revenants, all capable of operating simultaneously.

"Torres tells him that they will fear him again. All he needs to do is live."

It appears that Revenant intends to accept Torres' offer. When Loba's spear breaks the jar holding Revenant's head/source code, the murderbot suddenly appears behind her, grabbing her weapon and pushing her away from the jar. After picking it up, all the other Revenant shells are activated simultaneously, descending from their storage units on the ceiling.

"Mr. Cross, soon we will have everything we have ever wanted," Torres stated, referring to Revenant by his human last name. "We will have control over everything."

Revenant had different plans. "I only wanted control over myself," the simulacrum replied.

Torres Silva is killed by one of Revenant's spare shells after trying to negotiate with the Syndicate leader. The Revenant shells escape the facility, prompting the legends to flee. As they head for their ship, the army of Revenants attempts to stop them, causing damage and nearly crashing the ship. The legends eventually remove the robotic stowaways from the ship and as they look down at the swarming army of killer robots, they spot Revenant holding his source code and gazing back at them. A close-up shot reveals his artificial eyes changing from their signature golden glow to a foreboding shade of red.

The episode's implications are significant. The Mercenary Syndicate is now without a leader, and Apex's antagonist, Torres Silva, has been defeated. However, Silva was in close collaboration with Cherisse Che, the owner of weapons manufacturer Chevrex and the mother of Lifeline. It is possible that she might step in to take over the Syndicate in Silva's absence.

Revenant's transformation is even more intriguing. Despite the upgrades from Silva, his existence is still tormenting, and he has expressed a desire to die. His sudden change of heart, along with the ominous shift in his eye color, may suggest that, although Silva is dead, Revenant may be able to control his army of clones, but not his own actions. Despite being in existence since Season 4, he has never attempted to kill a playable character. It does not make sense for him to suddenly send all of his spare shells after the other legends, considering he already obtained his source code. It is possible that some of the "upgrades" Silva gave him actually diminished his free will.

The conclusion of the Kill Code may have arrived, but it's evident that the story of Revenant and Loba is far from finished. The aftermath of the events in Kill Code: Part 4 is expected to have long-lasting effects in the upcoming seasons. When questioned about their anticipation for Season 19 previews, Respawn was asked what they were looking forward to the most and Apex Legends experience director Aaron Rutledge responded with a simple, "Season 20."

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z netizen, I have mixed feelings about the latest episode of the Apex Legends animated series, Kill Code. On the one hand, I am excited to see the story of Revenant and Loba finally come to a head. The twist ending, where Revenant betrays Loba and joins forces with Torres Silva, was shocking and unexpected. I am eager to see how this development will affect the今後のゲームのストーリー.

On the other hand, I am concerned about the implications of this twist. Revenant is now in control of an army of Revenant shells, which could pose a serious threat to the legends and the rest of the Apex Games. I am worried that this could lead to a major conflict in the game, which could be difficult for the developers to resolve.

Overall, I am excited to see where the story of Apex Legends goes from here. The Kill Code series has been a great way to explore the lore of the game and the motivations of its characters. I am looking forward to seeing what Respawn has in store for us next.
