Taylor Swift dominated the weekend box office as she debuted her Eras Tour concert film in theaters around the world.
AMC is set to release official numbers for the box office on Monday, October 15. According to Comscore estimates, Taylor Swift's concert film, Swift, had an impressive opening weekend in North America, earning between $95 million and $97 million. This makes it the highest-grossing concert film of all time in the region.
In the domestic weekend box office, Eras dominated the competition in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Exorcist: Believer, which rescheduled its release date to avoid direct competition with Swift, came in second place with $11 million. PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie secured the third spot with $7 million, followed by Saw X with $5.6 million in fourth place. The Creator completed the top five with earnings of $4.3 million.
The singer, who is 33 years old, started her record-breaking Eras Tour in Arizona in March. After completing the first leg of the tour in the United States in August, she announced that the concert would be shown in theaters.
Through Instagram, Swift expressed her excitement about the Eras Tour, calling it the most meaningful and electric experience of her life so far. She revealed that the concert film would be screened in theaters in North America starting on October 13th. Tickets are already available for purchase. Swift encouraged fans to come dressed in Eras attire, wear friendship bracelets, and to sing and dance along. The post also included the phrase "1, 2, 3 LGB!!!" with a reference to an inside joke.

One month later, Swift confirmed that the movie was scheduled to be released globally, showcasing in 8,500 cinemas across 100 countries. On September, she took to Instagram to share the news, stating, "The tour isn't the only thing we're taking worldwide. I've been extremely excited to announce that The Eras Tour concert film will now officially hit theaters WORLDWIDE on Oct 13!"
Variety reported that, prior to the film's debut on Friday, October 13, it had already exceeded $100 million in advance ticket sales globally. The movie had already set a new record for single-day ticket sales at AMC Theatres, earning $26 million in North America alone.
To commemorate this significant achievement, Swift hosted a film premiere at The Grove in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 11.

Amid a hectic schedule, Taylor Swift's latest movie is experiencing tremendous success. While taking a break from her stadium tour since late August, the highly anticipated rerecording of her album, 1989 (Taylor's Version), is set to release on October 27. Following this, she will conclude her tour with performances in Argentina and Brazil in November, before resuming the international leg in February.
Despite her busy schedule, Swift has been making headlines by spending time with Travis Kelce during her free time. She showed her support for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, aged 34, at two of his NFL games, causing excitement among fans. While she couldn't attend his game in Minnesota on October 8, we exclusively revealed that Swift flew from Nashville to Kansas City on October 6, just one day after Kelce's birthday, to see him.
On the same day as Swift's visit, Kelce addressed the attention. He expressed his happiness, saying, "It feels like I was already on top of the world after the Super Bowl, and now I feel even more on top of the world." He went on to acknowledge the public's interest in Taylor and the reasons behind it, but emphasized the importance of living, learning, and cherishing the moments. Kelce added that he has always been skilled at compartmentalizing and staying focused, and he will continue to approach life in the same manner.
