Raven-Symoné playfully remarked that she and her wife Miranda Maday's new podcast is far from being a "safe space" when it comes to expressing their thoughts with their fans and with each other. When speaking exclusively with We on July 10, Maday, who is 35 years old, likened their show, "The Best Podcast Ever," to a therapy session for couples where they engage with their listeners.
“You feel a sense of comfort. It's like being at home, alone, and having the freedom to express yourself," Maday said. "In a way, it's almost like couples therapy because it forces us to have open and honest conversations, although we also attend actual couples therapy sessions. Yeah, that's when we really focus on resolving our issues."
Raven, 37, also emphasized the importance of being mindful about what you say, both on and off the microphone, especially in the presence of others, including her spouse. "For Raven, a safe space means being surrounded by pastels in an art room, painting with watercolors, and having no one else around. That's her sanctuary," Maday added, referring to Raven's character Raven Baxter from the Disney Channel's That's So Raven and Raven's Home.

The couple's podcast starts each episode by spinning a wheel of random words and commencing a conversation based on the outcome. However, as Maday shared with Us, their discussions about the chosen word in a particular episode can veer off track unexpectedly.
Referring to an episode centered around the topic of roommates, she recalled, "Every time we've done an episode, I find myself reflecting on it afterwards and realizing, 'Why didn't we discuss the origin of the word roommate? Why is it even called that?'"
Devoting their time to both "The Best Podcast Ever" and their individual projects has limited the duo's availability for date nights. Raven acknowledged the challenge, stating, "Finding that time is definitely difficult. We're still figuring it out. Currently, our idea of a date night involves watching the Mission Impossible series, one movie at a time. Although we've only finished the first one."
When they do find the time for a date night, Raven has observed that it usually morphs into an intense discussion about the technical aspects of how something should appear in the morning. She also acknowledges, "Our innermost selves comprehend the reason behind our dedication, and we are fully aware that there will be ample opportunity to relax and indulge in romantic evenings once we have completed this arduous task."

With their determination to have a good balance between work and leisure, the same mindset also applies to their aspirations of starting a family. Raven humorously stated, "We need to financially prepare for our future family, so we're focused on our careers right now."
According to Maday, the couple, who got married in June 2020, have some "ideas" about their vision of a family in the future. She added, "The interesting thing about Raven and me is that we'll brainstorm one idea and then let it evolve into countless possibilities. That's how we envision our future family - in various shapes and forms."
Currently, both individuals are expressing their gratitude towards each other through small gestures, even if these gestures do not always unfold as planned. "This morning, I attempted to ask her, but she replied, 'I'm busy getting ready,'" Raven playfully shared. "I asked her if she wanted to dance with me, and she declined. I thought, 'Alright, forget it.' However, there are moments when she does accept." Reported by Mandie DeCamp.
