Raven-Symoné marked her 38th birthday without her younger brother, Blaize Pearman, by her side.

In a video posted on Instagram on Monday, December 11, Raven expressed her gratitude for the heartfelt birthday wishes. She also shared that her celebration was tinged with sadness due to the recent passing of her brother, Blaize, who had been fighting colon cancer for two years. She mentioned that despite the bittersweetness, she is comforted by the thought that he is now in a better place.

Lydia Gaulden and Christopher Pearman, Raven’s parents, welcomed Blaize in 1991, six years after the Disney star was born. Tragically, Blaize lost his battle with cancer at the age of 31. Although he did not pursue a career in Hollywood like his sister, he did appear alongside her on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud in 2008.

Raven expressed, "He is dearly missed and the emotions that have been flowing through me and my family have been difficult to navigate. But I love you, Blaize. His birthday is December 16th and always will be."

Raven expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, and followers, calling them an incredible support system. She finished by wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and promising new content in the new year.

In the caption, Raven mentioned that it's difficult to fully celebrate her birthday without a certain someone, and hinted at more to come on December 16.
