Princess Kate Middleton has received praise for her photography skills from Queen Elizabeth II’s photographer Hugo Rittson-Thomas. He commended her understanding of photography techniques, citing her recent published photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte as evidence. Rittson-Thomas shared his approval with Hello! on Tuesday, April 9.

Rittson-Thomas mentioned that Kate, who is 42 years old, graciously agreed to visit the specially designed set for a photo shoot with her husband, Prince William. He shared that a new set had to be built specifically for William's height.

He expressed, "It was a huge privilege and honor."

Samir Hussein, the royal photographer who took photos at the Prince and Princess of Wales’ 2011 wedding, shared with us that he was quite impressed with Kate's photography skills.

"When I met her, we talked about photography, and I could see that she is really passionate about it. Her pictures show that she is definitely above average. She has a great eye for photography and is a talented photographer. I am truly impressed by her pictures."

Hussein mentioned that he attempted to give Kate some tips, but he's unsure if she has actually taken them into consideration.

In March, Kate faced criticism for a Mother's Day family photo that seemed to be edited digitally. The photo was allegedly captured by William, who is 41 years old.

Several news agencies later received a request to remove the image from their websites, known as a “kill notification”. Kate addressed this in a statement, mentioning her occasional experimentation with editing photos. She expressed apologies for any confusion caused by the family photograph shared recently, wishing everyone a happy Mother's Day.

Over the years, Kate has often taken photos at her children's birthdays, capturing moments of George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, in casual settings. Besides informal pictures, Kate has also taken more formal shots, including the cover image for Queen Camilla’s 2022 profile in the U.K.’s Country Life magazine.

Camilla, 76, asked for Kate's help with her profile. Editor Mark Hedges shared, "She immediately said, ‘Oh, I’d quite like Catherine to do it.’ I spent the next few minutes trying to think of a photographer named Catherine." Eventually, he realized she meant Kate, which he found amazing. It was easy for him to agree to her choice.
