During a recent episode of her "Scheananigans" podcast, Scheana Shay expressed disbelief at Jax Taylor's claim that he makes $500,000 on Cameo. "I've been on Cameo for seven years and I haven't made half a million dollars. Actually, it's been five years for me. If he's making that much, good for him," said the 37-year-old former costar.
Taylor provided details about his earnings during his appearance on season 1 of E!'s House of Villains. In a conversation with Shake Chatterjee from Love Is Blind, the former cast member of Vanderpump Rules, aged 44, discussed his journey towards success after departing from reality TV.
During the October 19 episode of the reality competition, Taylor disclosed, "I have earned approximately $450,000 solely through Cameo," while discussing his life post-leaving Bravo in 2020. (Cameo is an online platform where fans can request personalized video messages from celebrities for a fee, which can range from $1 to $15,000.)
Taylor also commended his wife, Brittany Cartwright, for her impressive work on brand deals, stating, "My wife is incredibly successful. She recently secured a $2 million contract with Jenny Craig. She excels in her career."

During their "When Reality Hits" podcast on October 20, Cartwright, aged 34, criticized Taylor's comments after witnessing his conversation with Chatterjee, aged 36, unfold onscreen.
"I was appalled by the strategy you employed, claiming that you were earning a substantial income from various sources and that your wife had lucrative deals. What were you thinking?" Cartwright exclaimed.
Taylor justified his choice to Cartwright by explaining that he aimed to impart valuable lessons to Chatterjee based on his own experiences.
"While I was establishing connections, there was this individual named Shake who was new to the world of reality TV. He was seeking ways to capitalize on the circumstances. I wanted to provide him with illustrations of potential income opportunities," Taylor conveyed. "Given my extensive time in this field, I wish I had someone like myself who could have guided me on securing deals, leveraging Cameo, and generating additional income."
Taylor asserted that he did not intend to boast about his accomplishments. He emphasized that he had put in immense effort for the past decade to achieve his current position, and nothing had been handed to him. Taylor concluded by emphasizing the importance of not relying solely on income from his show, but pursuing other avenues of financial stability.
During the podcast on Friday, Janet Elizabeth, a friend of Shay, raised doubts about Taylor's claims. In response, Shay acknowledged that she had not experienced the same level of success as Taylor thus far.
Shay adjusted her price to match Jax and James [Kennedy] after realizing that James was charging $100, resulting in her setting her price at $99. However, upon discovering that Jax and James were charging $200, Shay felt it was necessary to increase her price to $199. Elizabeth questioned Taylor's statements, suggesting that he may have been exaggerating since he would have to complete 15 Cameo videos per day, 7 days a week, to make such a high income.
