Prince William chose not to answer a question about Kate Middleton's well-being as she recuperates from abdominal surgery. In a video captured by the Daily Mail, a spectator in the crowd queried the 41-year-old Prince of Wales about Catherine's condition during his visit to the Wrexham AFC stadium on Friday, March 1. However, William opted not to respond and simply carried on with his walk.
However, when a fan asked William for a selfie, he politely replied, "Can I first say hello to the team? I'll come back."
William attended the event alone, as his wife, the Princess of Wales, is still recovering from surgery she had in January. In the past three months, William has been seen at various events without his wife, such as the BAFTAs and his recent visit to Wales.
William not only visited the soccer stadium but also stopped by a Welsh elementary school to mark St. David’s Day. The children gave him stuffed animals for his kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. They also gave him a bouquet of flowers, likely for Kate.
William expressed his gratitude to the students for the gifts and the tour of the school. He mentioned that he would pass on the gifts to Catherine. He also complimented the children, saying they seemed very cheerful and intelligent.
Kensington Palace initially said that Kate would not be attending any royal events after her scheduled procedure, and has kept details about her health private.
In a statement posted on the palace's official X account, it was mentioned that the surgery went well and Kate is expected to stay in the hospital for ten to fourteen days. She will then go home to recover. Based on medical advice, it is unlikely that she will resume her public duties until after Easter.
Kate has not made a public appearance since Christmas Day 2023, causing speculation on social media about her absence. However, the princess' representative has dismissed any theories.
"Kensington Palace stated in January the schedule for Kate's recovery and will only release major updates," a spokesperson for the royal family said in a statement in February. "This information remains the same."
On Monday, March 4, Kate was seen in a car with her mother, Carole Middleton, according to photos from TMZ.
William took a break from his responsibilities to support his wife. Some people were surprised when he missed the memorial for his godfather, King Constantine of Greece, citing a personal issue. The palace didn’t provide further details but assured that Kate was progressing well in her recovery journey.

The article provides an insightful glimpse into the private life of Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton. It is heartwarming to see William's dedication to his wife's well-being, as he chooses to prioritize her recovery over public engagements. The small gestures, such as his intention to pass on the gifts to Kate and his praise for the children at the Welsh elementary school, demonstrate his love and care for his family.
However, it is also understandable that the public is curious about Kate's health and recovery. While the palace has been cautious in releasing information, it is encouraging to know that the surgery went well and that she is expected to make a full recovery. We wish Kate a speedy and comfortable recovery and look forward to seeing her return to her public duties after Easter.
