Player Builds Hilariously Enormous Home for Link in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A player of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has crafted a cozy and hilariously oversized home for Link using the game's home building system, showcasing the endless creativity available to players in this immersive world

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom provides players with the opportunity to construct their own abodes for the beloved protagonist, Link. One player went above and beyond by crafting a cozy and whimsically outrageous dwelling that perfectly suits the hero of Hyrule. The game places a strong emphasis on player creativity, offering a wide array of tools to build essentially anything that comes to mind.

Tears of the Kingdom stays true to its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, retaining several of its mechanical and systemic gameplay elements. Among these is the ability to construct houses that serve as a home base for Link. However, the house-building component in Tears of the Kingdom is far more extensive than in Breath of the Wild. Players now have the ability to fully control the arrangement of rooms and even create stables for their trusty steeds.

One Tears of the Kingdom subreddit member, known as Fodimin, took the newly updated house-building mechanic to the extreme. Fodimin shared a 29-second video showcasing Link's climb up all 20 staircases of his enormous skyscraper of a home. The building is so tall that Link must pause between floors to catch his breath and allow his stamina meter to recharge.

While some Tears of the Kingdom players are creating Star Wars podracers using Link's abilities, others may not even be aware of the carryover of the home-building mechanic from Breath of the Wild. To access this feature, players must visit the Hudson Construction reception desk in the Akkala Highlands just north of Zora's Domain, but only after completing the "Mattison's Independence" Side Adventure. From there, players can purchase land and activate the "Home on Arrange" quest, which serves as a tutorial for the basics of home building. Once completed, players are free to construct and decorate their dream Hyrulian mansions with dozens of decorative options.

Players have already showcased their limitless creativity with Tears of the Kingdom’s building mechanics since the game’s recent release. Despite the pressing tasks of saving Hyrule and rescuing Princess Zelda, players have managed to allocate time to construct intricate infernal machines designed to torment Koroks, as well as extravagant high-rise dwellings that will leave Link in awe.
