Onions play a crucial role in Pikmin 4, just like in the previous games. By discovering colored Onions, players can unlock new types of Pikmin to utilize. Additionally, each Flarlic found increases the maximum number of Pikmin that can be used at one time by ten. Throughout the game's six main stages, there are twelve Flarlics and seven colored Onions to be found. An additional three colored Onions are hidden in the main hub area.
To fully complete Pikmin 4, it is vital to locate every Onion. While wild Pikmin can be found in caves and Sublevels, only colored Onions offer a reliable means of cultivating certain types of Pikmin. Finding Flarlic is equally important, as certain tasks require a greater number of Pikmin than the default amount available to players.
All Pikmin 4 Onions by Location
In Pikmin 4, there are now two yellow onions and two blue onions available. Upon collecting the first yellow onion, players will unlock Yellow Pikmin, while obtaining the first blue onion will unlock Blue Pikmin. Additionally, when the second onion of each type is found, it will contribute twenty additional Pikmin of that particular color to the player's overall supply.
