Finding all the remaining crew members, castaways, and even locating Olimar himself can be a challenging task in Pikmin 4. This enigmatic planet is brimming with expansive stages, offering numerous discoveries for players. Thankfully, embarking on this mission doesn't have to be a solitary endeavor. In addition to commanding an ever-growing army of Pikmin throughout the game, players will also have the delightful company of Oatchi, the lovable space dog.

This faithful companion is capable of various tasks, ranging from overcoming obstacles to transporting resources back to the ship. However, players can instruct Oatchi to perform specific actions when needed.

How to Give Oatchi Commands

After advancing through Pikmin 4's story, players will gain the ability to give commands to Oatchi. This can be done by holding down the 'Y' button in the game, which will bring up a wheel interface. Within this interface, players have the option to disband their group, utilize items from their pack, switch between controlling their avatar or Oatchi, and issue specific commands to Oatchi.

Commands cannot be utilized at the Rescue Command Post; they are solely applicable during exploration. Upon the appearance of the wheel, employ the left stick to navigate and choose 'Command', subsequently press 'A' to access the Commands menu.

What Sort of Commmands Can be Given to Oatchi?

At the beginning of the game, Pikmin 4 players are granted six commands. The commands available for Oatchi are listed below.

1. Scent Acquisition: With this command, Oatchi can acquire a scent that will assist the players.

Discover Castaways: Once chosen, Oatchi will diligently search for the closest remaining Castaway in the stage.

Uncover Treasure: By executing this command, Oatchi will skillfully track down any remaining treasure that the players have yet to obtain.

Discover Onions: Follow the aroma of an onion and claim it to unlock new types of Pikmin.

Locate Raw Materials: Utilize this command to uncover additional heaps of raw materials that can be utilized for crafting gear and items.

Find Ice Pikmin: This command will allow players to find any Ice Pikmin that are nearby, including ones that are in underground areas.

How to Get More Commands

As players progress through the game, they will unlock a wider range of commands for Otachi. Furthermore, Pikmin 4 players have the option to acquire additional commands for Otachi by purchasing higher levels of Command on the Training menu using Pup Drive. Once the second level is obtained, players gain the ability to command Otachi to either return to the base or come to them. It also grants players the capability to instruct Otachi to go to a specific location. Upon acquiring the third level of Command, players can direct Otachi to locate and gather any lost Pikmin.
