Pierce Brosnan‘s life led him to a long-lasting marriage with Keely Shaye Smith. Prior to this, Brosnan was married to Cassandra Harris from 1980 until her passing in 1991. During their marriage, Brosnan and Harris welcomed son Sean in September 1983, and Brosnan also adopted Harris’ daughter Charlotte and son Chris from her previous relationship.
Harris passed away in December 1991 after a battle with ovarian cancer. In a 2008 interview, he spoke about dealing with the loss and emphasized how his family treasured their time with Harris. He described her as positive, energetic, perceptive, and possessing a great sense of humor, with a contagious laugh that has lived on in their children.
Brosnan found love again when he met Smith during a trip to Mexico in 1994. They got married in 2001 and welcomed sons Paris and Dylan into their family.

"Unfortunately, my first marriage came to an end, but I consider myself fortunate to have found love once more. It feels like we were destined to find each other. I am grateful to God for her every day," Brosnan shared with Closer in January 2018. "Whenever Keely gazes at me, I am overcome with emotion. I adore her energy and fervor. Her resilience is something I cannot imagine living without."

Pierce Brosnan's life led him to a lasting marriage with Keely Shaye Smith.
Brosnan was married to Cassandra Harris from 1980 until her passing in 1991. They had a son, Sean, in September 1983, and he also adopted Harris' daughter, Charlotte, and son, Chris, from her previous marriage.
Harris passed away in December 1991 after a battle with ovarian cancer. Brosnan spoke about dealing with the loss in a 2008 interview, expressing how much his family cherished their time with Harris. “I had a wonderful marriage that unfortunately came to an end, but I was fortunate enough to find love again. It was meant to be. I thank God for her every day,” Brosnan shared with Closer in January 2018. “When Keely looks at me, I feel vulnerable. I adore her energy, her enthusiasm. She has a resilience that I couldn't live without.”

In an interview with Closer, the Irish native discussed the importance of finding the right person to spend his life with. "You have to trust and follow your heart," he shared, "and try to surround yourself with the best people in life."
He also expressed his belief in the value of a strong partner, stating, "I've been a married man most of my life — that's the way I like it. I'm one of those guys who believes you need a strong woman in your life."

"This is our wedding ring and this is a watch that Keely bought me many years ago with an inscription that [reads], 'Time flies on love's wings,'" Brosnan told Entertainment Tonight.
