Patrick Mahomes recently shared the reason behind his decision to turn down the opportunity to host Saturday Night Live. In an interview with TIME, the 28-year-old quarterback explained that he felt unsure about using a teleprompter.

Patrick is still uncertain about his SNL plans, but his teammate Travis Kelce hosted in March. Other NFL players such as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and J.J. Watt have also graced the stage over the years.

He shared that if he were to play until Tom Brady's age, his daughter would be 19 or 20 years old. Patrick expressed his desire to play for that long, but also emphasized the importance of being present for his daughter. He mentioned that as long as he can balance playing football with spending time with his family, he will continue to play. However, once he feels that football is taking away from his family time, he will know it's time to retire.
