Paige DeSorbo Reflects on Remaining Neutral During Hannah Burner's Last Season on 'Summer House'

Paige DeSorbo shares her top 'Summer House' regret, reflecting on her role as a neutral party during Hannah Berner's last season on the Bravo hit show Find out what made her wish she had taken a different stance!

During an episode of Dear Media's "The Skinny Confidential Him & Her" podcast on Monday, December 18, Paige DeSorbo, 31, confessed that she has one major regret from her time on Summer House – not being a better friend to her "soulmate" Hannah Berner. "I have a lot of regrets from that season. I think about how I could have been a better friend to Hannah," Paige stated, reflecting on how she was caught in the middle and wondering if she could have influenced Hannah's decision not to return for the next season.

Hannah, 32, revealed her exit from Bravo’s Summer House in May 2021 after three seasons. During her last summer on the show, which aired as the fifth season, she faced significant challenges with her former housemates, such as Luke Gulbranson, Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, and Lindsay Hubbard. Paige confessed on Monday's podcast that she remained neutral during those "intense" episodes, acknowledging that the conflicts and Hannah's eventual dismissal put her in an "awkward position."

"I regret not standing up for Hannah and Amanda, and maybe speaking up more. Looking back, I feel really sorry for what Hannah had to endure that year - it was one of the hardest times for her." Hannah, on the other hand, expressed having mixed feelings about not coming back to the show when she announced her departure.

"This past year has been incredibly transformative for me. I've experienced self-reflection, love, and a tremendous amount of personal growth. I've embraced new career opportunities, faced challenges, and learned so much. In my Instagram post from May 2021, I expressed my excitement for the upcoming summer, but also shared my mixed emotions about not returning to the summer house. The last three summers have been a whirlwind, and being a part of the show has undeniably changed my life. I will always be grateful for the platform it has given me."

When discussing Hannah’s Summer House firing in the latest podcast episode, Paige mentioned that it leads her to believe that "everything happens for a reason." Despite the incident, the two women remain close friends and continue to cohost a podcast called “Giggly Squad.”

Paige stated that "Giggly Squad" wouldn't have been the same without Hannah being fired from that season. It changed their friendship dynamics completely as they were no longer on the show together, and they avoided the animosity that comes with being on reality TV. She emphasized that their podcast "Giggly Squad" would not have taken its current form if that hadn't happened.

Paige remains on Summer House, which returns for season 8 next year.
