Kirara is a new addition to the Dendro user roster in Genshin Impact's version 3.7 update. Her kit includes shielding abilities and burst-DPS support properties, making her an excellent team companion. What sets her apart from other characters is her ability to transform when her Elemental Skill is held, increasing her climbing and movement speed. With additional constellations, Kirara's functionality as a support character significantly improves, making her a valuable addition to various team compositions. However, building her as a spread DPS character is not recommended as it would reduce her versatility. Players can rely on her as a well-rounded support character with a primary focus on shielding, making her a valuable companion for characters like Nilou, Alhaitham, Raiden Shogun, and many others. She can fit into team compositions that utilize a main DPS and sub-DPS, and while having a healer can be helpful, it is not necessary.

Optimizing Your Genshin Impact Team with Kirara

Kirara

: Shielder, Burst-Support, Dendro Enabler

Yae Miko

: Sub-DPS, Electro Enabler

The team consists of two Dendro and two Electro characters with a focus on utilizing and spreading reactions effectively. Alhaitham serves as the primary DPS character while the healer, Kuki Shinobu, acts as an Electro enabler. Yae Miko and Kirara also have simple skills with long durations, allowing Alhaitham to concentrate on dealing damage without much interruption.

Players have the opportunity to obtain Yae Miko and try her out together with Kirara, as they both debut as 5-star characters in the same banner alongside Yoimiya. However, for those who prefer a different sub-DPS option, Fischl can also be considered. Additionally, Raiden Shogun could be a suitable replacement for Kuki Shinobu if Kirara is built well enough to provide strong shields and the team does not require a dedicated healer.

The team composition of Kirara, Raiden Shogun, Nahida, and Kokomi can also be a viable option, with Kirara serving as a shielder, burst-support, and dendro enabler.

Raiden Shogun

: Sub-DPS, Electro Enabler

Nahida:

Sub-DPS, Dendro Enabler

Kokomi:

Players who enjoy quick character swapping and are interested in a hyperbloom team may find this composition appealing. The characters in this team can all benefit from their on-field time without being disrupted when they are not active, making it easy to consistently generate Dendro cores with Kokomi, Nahida, and Kirara. Raiden Shogun can then be utilized to transform and explode these cores. Kirara's shielding ability is especially useful in this situation as it can prevent excessive damage to the active character during the Dendro core explosion. Players can also opt for another Hydro applier, such as Yelan or Xingqiu, if they so choose.

: Shielder, Burst-Support, Dendro Enabler

Nilou

: Sub-DPS, Hydro Enabler

Nahida:

Sub-DPS, Dendro Enabler

Xingqiu is a Hydro enabler and sub-DPS character who pairs well with Kirara, a Dendro character. To enable Bountiful Dendro cores, it is important to have a team composition featuring both Hydro and Dendro characters, making Kirara a suitable companion for Xingqiu. Even without any constellations, Kirara's shielding abilities are useful and complement Xingqiu's damage reduction and limited healing capabilities.

For players who have Kirara's fourth constellation, the team's Dendro application can be increased and more consistent Dendro cores can be created. Additionally, Kirara's sixth constellation can enhance the elemental damage application, further boosting the team's damage potential. Alternatively, players may choose to use Nahida's auto-attacks for a more consistent Dendro application, especially when facing multiple waves of enemies in content like Spiral Abyss or certain in-game events.

For a well-rounded team composition, players may consider using 2Kirara, Kaveh, Kazuha, and Yelan.

Kirara

Kaveh

: Main-DPS, Dendro Enabler

Players who want to use Kaveh for bloom reactions but don't have access to Nilou can still benefit by including Kirara in their team, along with other party members like Kazuha and Yelan. Kaveh doesn't have the same strict duo-element requirement as Nilou, which allows for more flexibility in team composition. Kirara can complement Kaveh's abilities by providing additional Dendro application and shielding capabilities, even though Kaveh himself doesn't necessarily require a very defensive playstyle due to his self-healing potential. Together with Yelan, they can easily generate Dendro cores and further enhance the team's damage potential. Moreover, Kazuha's buffs to allies and debuffs on enemies, along with his ability to pull enemies and Dendro cores, can greatly assist Kaveh's AoE capabilities.
