However, individuals like Jinbe, Trafalgar Law, and Eustass Kid have proven to be immune to this ability due to their unwavering determination.
Big Mom has the choice to extract entire souls, resulting in the death of the individual, or only extract segments, which reduces their lifespan. The extracted souls take on a light pink appearance and have a texture similar to smoke, but they can be physically interacted with by the user of the Soru Soru no Mi. This technique, known as Soul Pocus, is a distinctive ability derived from the Soru Soru no Mi and serves as the foundation for creating homies, which are employed by Big Mom as her personal enforcers in Whole Cake Island and Totto Land.
The Power Of Her Homies
In addition to draining souls and reducing lifespan, the user of this Devil Fruit can also imbue lifeless objects with fragments of souls, giving them personalities, human-like intelligence, and the ability to communicate. These animated objects, known as "Homies," can be created from a wide range of things, including plants, animals, inanimate objects, food, air, light, and other substances. Most often, Homies are formed by infusing them with soul fragments from other individuals. However, there are also special Homies that possess fragments of Big Mom's own incredibly powerful soul. As obedient servants of Big Mom, all homies, including these special ones, must comply with her every command without question. However, certain homies like Zeus possess a degree of individuality that allows them to act independently. Homies are prohibited from attacking anyone who possesses Big Mom's Vivre Card, as it contains the essence of her soul. This restriction can only be overridden by the presence of a user of the Soru Soru no Mi ability. Furthermore, weaker homies are defenseless against the powers of Brook's Yomi Yomi no Mi. Additionally, if the user is unable to communicate and issue commands, their control over the homies can be neutralized. Big Mom also has the ability to manifest fragments of her own soul in the form of large black humanoid blobs known as Incarnations, which she employs to collect tolls from the citizens of Totto Land.
To maintain order in Totto Land, Linlin has implemented a biannual collection process using the Incarnations. Each resident of the archipelago is required to sacrifice a month of their lifespan to remain in the land. Through her control over her homies and Incarnations, she has been able to harness every aspect of the territory into a potent weapon, creating an army of fiercely obedient soldiers.
