One Piece: Kaido's Epic Return Unveiled - An Unforgettable Comeback!

Unveiling the Enigma: Kaido's Mysterious Resurgence Despite his apparent demise in Wano, the indomitable Kaido's fate remains uncertain, leaving fans speculating about his epic return

Kaido, once renowned as one of the Four Emperors of the Sea in the One Piece world, faced a dramatic turn of events during the Wano Country arc. Formerly a member of the legendary Rocks Pirates, Kaido began as an apprentice within their ranks. Upon the demise of Rocks and the subsequent dissolution of the pirate crew on God Valley 38 years ago, Kaido chose to forge his own path by assembling the Beast Pirates. With the passage of time, they established a formidable reputation.

Gradually, the Beast Pirates earned the status of a Yonko crew and directed their ambitions towards Wano, a formidable territory governed by samurai in the treacherous New World. For over two decades, Kaido ruled over Wano, until he met his unforeseen defeat at the hands of none other than Luffy. The conclusion to Kaido's fascinating tale left fans in suspense, uncertain whether he met his demise or somehow managed to survive.

Kaido's Goal

Kaido's journey unfolds in the Vodka Kingdom, located in the New World, a place known for its relentless wars for survival. At just 8 years old, Kaido emerged as a significant force in the kingdom. However, his incredible power soon proved too difficult to control. Consequently, the Vodka Kingdom decided to trade Kaido to the Navy, in return for a position within the World Council. Unsurprisingly, the Navy struggled to contain the indomitable Kaido, and he eventually managed to break free.

From then on, Kaido embarked on a furious rampage across the seas until the age of 15. He purposefully allowed himself to be captured, only to swiftly escape after indulging in a meal. Eventually, he crossed paths with Whitebeard on an island inhabited by pirates. Intrigued by Kaido, Rocks D. Xebec, the captain of the notorious Rocks Pirates, took him under his wing as his apprentice. Kaido spent a considerable amount of time working alongside the Rocks Pirates, and it was during the infamous God Valley Incident that he received the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryuu devil fruit from none other than Big Mom herself.

Shortly afterward, Kaido proceeded to form his own crew, driven by a resolute sense of purpose. Like numerous others in the One Piece world, Kaido aspired to build a society where equality prevailed. For example, Big Mom also yearned for such a world, which was why she established Totto Land. However, Kaido harbored a compelling ambition of his own. He believed that true equality could only be accomplished by dethroning the Celestial Dragons and forcing them to fight alongside everyone else. In Kaido's view, those who engaged in battle and emerged victorious deserved admiration and the right to live freely.

The weak shall perish; this was Kaido's skewed notion of equality, though it was firmly ingrained in his mind. This led Kaido to form the Beast Pirates, with his ultimate ambition being the downfall of the Celestial Dragons—ironically paralleling Luffy's own goal.

At some juncture in his life, Kaido stumbled upon the legend of Joyboy. For a considerable period, Kaido genuinely believed himself to be Joyboy. When Kaido liberated Alber, the latter also embraced this belief, viewing Kaido as the sole agent of change in the world. However, as time passed, Kaido eventually realized his true identity was not Joyboy. Nevertheless, he clung to the conviction that Joyboy would resurface in the future within the confines of Wano. This became Kaido's primary motive for remaining in Wano, alongside his pursuits of weapon production and the establishment of a pirate nation.

Knowing that joyboy would appear in Wano, Kaido patiently awaited his arrival. At this point in his life, Kaido had established his main goal: to personally welcome Joyboy in his own unique way. Kaido confidently claimed to have already identified Joyboy and, when King inquired about this person's identity, Kaido cryptically asserted that it would be the one who could defeat him. In essence, Kaido anticipated being defeated by Joyboy as a symbolic herald of his return to the world.

How Kaido's Story Concluded

Kaido's story reached a captivating conclusion in Wano. Upon discovering his tyrannical rule, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates resolved to bring him down once and for all. Despite Kaido's formidable strength, Luffy managed to elevate his own abilities and engage him in an intense one-on-one battle. This clash endured for a prolonged period, during which Luffy continually honed his skills to match those of a Yonko. Eventually, he attained mastery over techniques like Conqueror's Haki Infusion, employing them with remarkable efficacy. Yet, even with these advancements, Luffy couldn't overthrow Kaido. However, as his Devil Fruit Awakened and Nika descended upon the world, Kaido recognized that his long-held vision was about to materialize.

Kaido battled Nika with all his might, but he was taken aback by Nika's carefree spirit and ability to bring joy wherever he went. Eventually, Luffy defeated Kaido with a powerful strike that sent him plummeting into an underground magma pit. This was the same location where Big Mom found herself after her defeat by Law and Kid. Surviving in a magma crater for an extended period of time is virtually impossible, but both Kaido and Big Mom are known for their astonishing durability.

Big Mom is often compared to an iron balloon, while Kaido possesses the tough scales of a dragon. Fans are aware of Oden's incredible feat of enduring an hour-long boil, where the temperature continued to rise. If Oden could accomplish such a feat, perhaps Big Mom and Kaido could as well. However, what diminishes their chances of survival is what occurred afterward. A colossal volcanic eruption occurred, triggering a miniature cataclysm near Udon. Considering their extreme exhaustion and injuries, surviving this ordeal would be an immense challenge for both of them.

Could Kaido Return?

The chances of both Kaido and Big Mom surviving the cataclysm are extremely slim. It is highly likely that Kaido did not survive. However, fans have found hope in the fact that the Big Mom Pirates were spotted shortly after the explosion near the seas of Wano, engaging in a battle against the CP0. This could indicate that Big Mom was somehow rescued by her crew, suggesting that they were outside of Wano in order to retrieve her after her defeat. If Big Mom managed to survive the cataclysm, then it is possible that Kaido did as well, especially if the Big Mom Pirates were able to save him along with her.

Nevertheless, it seems more logical for Kaido to have perished. He had achieved his life's goals. Kaido had longed to encounter Joyboy and be defeated by him, which ultimately came true. He also desired a world of equality, and Luffy assured him that he would create a society where people can freely indulge in food. Reflecting on his own past, Kaido would have realized that as a child, all he desired was nourishment, which compelled him to become a mercenary in his impoverished country and intentionally get captured by the navy just to satisfy his hunger. Despite his abhorrent actions, he would find contentment in the world that Luffy intends to build. Considering this, there isn't much of a reason for Kaido to make a return.

If, by some chance, he were to survive the conclusion of the Wano arc, Kaido might potentially make a comeback in the future to assist Luffy in his confrontation against the World Government. Given his intense hatred towards them and his longstanding ambition to dismantle their authority, it is highly probable that Kaido would align himself with Nika and battle alongside her.
