The Egghead Island arc in One Piece is intense and filled with high-octane action, focusing on the Straw Hat Pirates and their battle against the Seraphims.
The Seraphims, created by Dr. Vegapunk through lineage factor manipulation and cloning, are formidable beings with Paramecia abilities inherited from the Lunarian race. In their encounter with the Straw Hats, the Seraphims proved to be difficult adversaries, as the crew struggled to inflict damage. Nevertheless, it is hinted that Robin apprehended the treacherous individual controlling the Seraphims, ultimately causing them to cease hostilities.
The Egghead Island arc in One Piece continues to captivate fans with its intense action and groundbreaking events in nearly every chapter. Although the recent storyline deviated from the Straw Hat Pirates, the spotlight has once again shifted back to Egghead, where the Straw Hats were last seen battling the Seraphims. Excitement runs high as fans anticipate Oda's exploration of the biggest incident in the post-timeskip era of One Piece, known as the Egghead Incident. While fans appreciated the diversions in the plot, the core of the story revolves around the Straw Hat Pirates, and their absence was keenly felt. Fortunately, with the release of One Piece chapter 1089, the focus is once again on Luffy and his crew.
The Creation Of The Seraphims
The Seraphim were introduced to fans in the Egghead Island arc following the conclusion of the Wano arc. Initially shown in a flashback on Amazon Lily, their strength was showcased as they fought against the Navy and later, the Blackbeard Pirates, alongside Hancock and her forces. This flashback revealed the Seraphim of Dracule Mihawk and Boa Hancock. Subsequently, the Seraphims played a central role in the events of the Egghead Island Arc. Fans discovered that these beings were created by Dr. Vegapunk through Lineage Factor manipulation and cloning.
Essentially, the Seraphims were cloned child versions of former Warlords of the Sea, created using their Lineage Factor. Vegapunk also granted them Paramecia abilities by giving them Green Blood. Additionally, he infused their bodies with the Lineage Factor of the Lunarian race, making the Seraphims Lunarian as well. In the Egghead Island arc, fans witnessed the combat capability of these Seraphims as they faced off against the Straw Hat Pirates and CP0.
The Straw Hats Vs. Seraphims
Upon arriving at Egghead Island, fans quickly discovered that the Seraphims were actively working against the group. It didn't take long for suspicions of a traitor to arise, and eventually, Oda revealed York as the culprit. York had commanded the Seraphims to eliminate everyone except Stella, leading the Seraphims to take control of the situation. Numerous Straw Hats engaged in intense battles against the Seraphims, starting with Luffy and Lucci facing off against S-Bear, Bartholomew Kuma's Seraphim. Initially struggling to inflict damage, Luffy and Lucci eventually uncovered its weakness, leaving fans curious about the outcome of their fight.
Meanwhile, Zoro and Kaku joined forces against S-Hawk, but were unable to cause any harm. However, Zoro recollected a previous encounter with a Lunarian and discerned the Seraphim's vulnerability. On another front, Sanji confronted S-Shark alone, making his fight the most captivating as he showcased his endurance to the Seraphim. While the other battles proved challenging for the Straw Hats, Sanji seemed to pose a significant challenge for the Seraphim. Unfortunately, the resolution of this fight was not revealed, leaving fans in suspense. Nonetheless, Sanji appeared unharmed in the previous chapter.
The Case Of S-Snake
During the incident, S-Snake, the most dangerous Seraphim on the island, stood out as an intriguing figure. While others were engaged in combat, she exhibited unstoppable power by petrifying numerous individuals using her incredible abilities. Notably, fans witnessed her turn Vegapunks and even some members of the Straw Hat Crew into stone, with Usopp and Franky being among the victims. S-Snake's exceptional ability made it clear that she was the strongest and most formidable Seraphim, posing a significant challenge to overcome. However, in One Piece chapter 1089, she was noticeably absent, indicating that she too met her demise like the other Seraphims. Although the circumstances remain unknown to fans, it is anticipated that Oda will gradually reveal the events through flashbacks in the upcoming chapters, causing eager anticipation among the readers.
Who Won The Battle?
It is extremely difficult to determine the exact outcome of the battle between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Seraphims. However, it is evident that the Straw Hats did not suffer a loss as they all appear to be relatively unharmed. Although Zoro and Luffy have some injuries, overall they are in good shape. This suggests that the Straw Hat Pirates did not experience defeat. On the other hand, it is important to note that the Seraphims are known to be highly formidable beings, capable of fighting relentlessly for an extended period of time due to their Lunarian DNA. Therefore, it is unlikely that they would easily lose to the Straw Hats without putting up a significant fight.
Considering these factors, it can be inferred that the Seraphims were likely hindered, and this accomplishment can possibly be credited to Nico Robin. Robin was in close proximity to York during the last encounter on Egghead Island. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that Robin, along with Chopper and Atlas, could have apprehended York. This expectation is not unrealistic, considering Robin's status as a pirate worth 930 million berries and her reputation as a skilled fighter. Taking care of York should not have posed a significant challenge for her, given her capabilities as one of the strongest Officers in the Straw Hat Pirate Crew.
Given York's ability to control all the Seraphim, it is probable that Robin played a crucial role in saving the day by causing the Seraphim to halt their actions. This would also explain why both Franky and Usopp returned to their original state. Only S-Snake possesses the power to reverse her petrification and someone must have instructed her to do so. This suggests that York was most likely captured, possibly by Robin, and ordered to cease the Seraphims' fighting. Therefore, it can be inferred that the Straw Hats did not defeat any of the Seraphims in battle, but rather compelled them to stop fighting.
