Olivia Munn expressed her gratitude for the support she received from her fans, friends, and loved ones after revealing her breast cancer diagnosis.
In an Instagram Story on Thursday, March 14, the X-Men: Apocalypse actress, 43, shared, "I’m really grateful for all the love and support I’ve received about my diagnosis that I shared yesterday. Reading your stories and comments has really meant a lot to me and I just wanted to express my gratitude for all of it."
Munn shared on Instagram on March 13 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
She mentioned that in February 2023, she decided to prioritize her health by taking a genetic test that screens for 90 cancer genes. Fortunately, the results came back negative for all, including the BRCA gene commonly associated with breast cancer. Additionally, her mammogram results were normal during that winter.
Two months after receiving negative test results, Olivia Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023. She underwent four surgeries and recently opened up about why she waited to share her diagnosis.

Olivia Munn shared on Instagram that she has only cried twice. She explained that she felt there wasn't time to cry, so she focused on staying clearheaded. Munn mentioned that she put aside emotions that could interfere with her ability to cope. She expressed the need to take a moment to catch her breath and face the toughest challenges before opening up.
Munn expressed her gratitude towards her partner John Mulaney for his unwavering support throughout her diagnosis. She specifically mentioned how he dedicated time to research about her treatments, medications, and potential side effects. Additionally, she appreciated his presence before and after each surgery, even placing photos of their son Malcolm by her bedside to greet her as she woke up.
In response, Mulaney, 41, added in the comments section, “Thank you for fighting so hard to be here for us. Malc and I adore you.”
