In February 2023, I decided to take a genetic test to stay ahead of my health. The test looked for 90 different cancer genes, and I was relieved to find out that I tested negative for all of them, including BRCA, which is a common breast cancer gene. My sister Sara had also tested negative, so we celebrated over the phone. Around the same time, I had a regular mammogram done, which came back normal.

Munn shared that she was diagnosed with breast cancer two months after the event in Midtown on April 22, 2024 in New York City. She also mentioned that she has had "four surgeries," including a double mastectomy.

I've only cried twice," she shared. "I've been so focused that I put aside any emotions that could cloud my judgment. Thanking her doctors and her supportive partner, John Mulaney, Munn ended the post.

Earlier this month, she shared about how she dealt with her mastectomy scars. She mentioned having some uneven areas on one side of her body where the lymph nodes were removed. She also explained that the process involved some deep digging. Despite this, she bravely wore dresses on the red carpet, although it did cause her some stress at times.
