Pokemon GO players are frustrated with the new Great Storage Box in the game, as it doesn't provide any additional storage capacity despite its name.
Most Pokemon GO players have no problem with microtransactions despite the ongoing controversy. They fully support the game's free-to-play model.
Though the Great Storage Box may not provide additional storage, it actually offers great value as it includes various items at a discounted price. This allows players to save money on items that they would typically buy individually.
The introduction of the "Great Storage Box" in the Pokemon GO store has triggered discontent among a significant portion of the game's player community. Dissatisfaction has been lingering among Pokemon GO fans, and this peculiar addition has only intensified the prevailing wave of negative sentiment.
Microtransactions have become a customary, albeit somewhat divisive, aspect of the gaming industry. Gamers have a complex relationship with these transactions, often perceiving them as a nuisance, despite the undeniable success that microtransactions have showcased. Even so, gamers reluctantly support them if the content is worthwhile. As a free-to-play mobile game, Pokemon GO relies on the microtransaction model, which most players readily accept. However, a recent addition to the Pokemon GO store that comes with a hefty price tag has ignited a storm of outrage among numerous fans.
The latest addition to Pokemon GO is the Great Storage Box, but its name is misleading as it doesn't actually provide a significant storage upgrade. Priced at 675 PokeCoins, it includes three premium battle passes, one Super Incubator, and a single Pokemon Storage upgrade. Although some players on the Pokemon GO subreddit criticized the lack of storage enhancement, the Great Storage Box offers good value when we consider the price of each item individually. A Super Incubator alone costs 200 PokeCoins, a Pokemon Storage upgrade also costs 200 PokeCoins, and a premium battle pass is priced at 100 PokeCoins. In total, the Great Storage Box provides items worth 900 PokeCoins for only 675. Players can purchase it by paying $9.99 for 1200 PokeCoins or by gradually earning PokeCoins within the game. The main issue appears to be the misleading name, as the most valuable item, the Super Incubator, receives the greatest discount. Reddit user Arielast expresses disappointment, stating, "I expected it to be a bundle that offered 4 or 5 storage upgrades, but that's not the case."
Managing Pokemon storage can be a significant challenge for many Pokemon GO players. As the number of Pokemon in the game continues to expand, players find themselves with limited space to store them. Consequently, upgrading Pokemon Storage becomes increasingly crucial. It would be highly beneficial if Niantic offered a discounted bundle with multiple storage upgrades. Hopefully, such an option will be made available in the in-game store in the near future. Pokemon GO can now be downloaded on mobile devices.
