New Leak from Honkai: Star Rail Reveals Upcoming Playable Character Debut as Boss in Version 2.0

A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is suggesting a rumored playable character will first appear during Version 2.0 as the RPG's newest boss. With Version 2.0 and the introduction of Penacony on the horizon, HoYoverse has given fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the next world in the popular sci-fi RPG.

The developer has already teased several playable characters from Penacony including Black Swan, Sparkle, and Misha among others. Now, leaks from the RPG are teasing the addition of a future playable character as one of Version 2.0's bosses.

HoYoverse has often featured its upcoming characters as imposing bosses within Honkai: Star Rail, teasing some of their powerful abilities. After being playable in the game's tutorial, Kafka was featured as a boss during the story of the Xianzhou Luofu and within the Simulated Universe. Other playable characters like Yanqing and Version 1.5 five-star character Argenti have also appeared as in-game bosses throughout the RPG's story.

With a plethora of Penacony characters already teased by HoYoverse, new leaks are suggesting one particular character will star as a boss during Version 2.0.

A recent leak shared by Honkai: Star Rail leaker Palito reveals the addition of a new boss in Honkai: Star Rail's Version 2.0. The leak suggests that rumored playable character Sunday will make his debut as a boss within Star Rail's first Penacony update, with data from the beta's files suggesting he will appear as an enemy.

Sunday was officially revealed by HoYoverse during the Version 1.6 Special Program, appearing as a guest during the livestream sharing details about Penacony. No details were given about how Sunday will function as an in-game boss.

Sunday was one of several new Penacony characters to be teased during the conclusion of Version 1.6's Special Program. During a segment focused on the newest world in the sci-fi RPG, HoYoverse would tease previously leaked characters like Firefly, Gallagher, and Aventurine among others. The livestream also gave some of the first looks at the in-game world of Penacony, showing off the steampunk aesthetics and vibrant colors used throughout the world.

Penacony and Version 2.0 are currently expected to launch on February 7.

Exciting Updates

With plenty of new content on the way in Penacony, Honkai: Star Rail's Version 1.6 saw significant additions to the game as well with its launch earlier this week. The popular Simulated Universe received its newest alternate game mode, with Honkai: Star Rail's 'Gold and Gears' emphasizing the player's choices throughout its progression. The update's launch also saw the addition of two new playable characters with five-star support Ruan Mei and four-star DPS character Xueyi. The impending arrival of Honkai: Star Rail's next world looks to have plenty in store for players.
