Netflix's Christmas Day Special Set to Shatter the Internet

On Christmas Day, get ready for the ultimate laughter with Ricky Gervais' Armageddon special on Netflix This world-famous comedian is back with a bang, expecting to unleash a comedic storm that will leave the internet in stitches

Get ready for a Christmas surprise as a renowned comedian is set to release a new comedy special on Netflix that is expected to go viral. Imagine this: you're in your living room, full from a festive meal, surrounded by opened presents and candy wrappers. The kids are occupied with their new toys or technology, the dog is tired from the day's activities, and finally, you have some time to yourself.

Here are a few options: you can watch a festive movie of your choice, check out what’s on TV (probably Mrs. Brown’s Boys, in which case it’ll be turned off), or take a nap.

Or, you could open Netflix and watch a highly-anticipated special from one of the top-grossing comedy tours in history.

Ricky Gervais: Armageddon special hits Netflix on Christmas Day

Ricky Gervais: Armageddon, a recording of the comedian’s sell-out tour at the London Palladium, will premiere on Netflix on Christmas Day.

"The day #Armageddon hit Netflix will be etched in history for the next 2000 years," the stand-up comic tweeted, along with a question: "Are you ready to break the internet?"

Ricky Gervais broke the Guinness World Record for the highest grossing single stand-up performance during his tour, with a standout show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Following the success of his shows Humanity and SuperNature on Netflix, the streaming platform has acquired the rights to his new show Armageddon, set to be released this Christmas.

The tour also received a Golden Globe nomination, prompting Gervais to comment: "Record-Breaking Tour, On Netflix Christmas Day, Golden Globe Nomination. What a fantastic year Cheers #Armageddon."

Predictably, the tour has sparked controversy. In particular, a preview of the show featured jokes about terminally ill children, angering celebrities and charities. A petition has been started calling for Netflix to remove the skit, and although it has gathered over 5,000 signatures, the platform has not yet addressed the criticism.

Ricky Gervais, the brilliant mind behind The Office, Extras, and Afterlife, brings a thought-provoking new stand-up special to Netflix. In this special, he tackles the end of humanity, political correctness, family weddings, funerals, and Artificial Intelligence. Don't miss Ricky Gervais: Armageddon, streaming on Netflix starting December 25th.

Editor's P/S

As a hard fan of Ricky Gervais, I am eagerly anticipating the release of his new comedy special, "Armageddon," on Netflix this Christmas Day. Gervais is known for his sharp wit and fearless approach to comedy, and I have no doubt that this special will be nothing short of hilarious. I can't wait to see what controversial topics he tackles this time around and how he manages to make us laugh at even the darkest of subjects.

I also appreciate that Gervais is willing to take risks with his comedy and push the boundaries of what is considered acceptable. His jokes may not be for everyone, but I admire his commitment to his craft and his refusal to shy away from difficult topics. I believe that comedy has the power to challenge our assumptions and make us think critically about the world around us, and Gervais is a master at using humor to do just that.
