Netflix Reveals ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Release Details; Episodes Divided into Two Parts

Netflix's highly anticipated 'Bridgerton' Season 3 will be released in two parts, offering fans double the excitement Bucking the trend of all-at-once releases, the split format promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next installment

Netflix has announced that Bridgerton season 3 will be split into two parts, with the first half premiering on Thursday, May 16 and the second half dropping on Thursday, June 13. Both parts will be available on Netflix at 3 a.m. ET.

After learning about Colin's hurtful words towards her, Penelope has let go of her longstanding crush on him. Despite this, she has decided it's time to find a husband who will allow her the freedom to continue living as Lady Whistledown away from her family. Unfortunately, her attempts to find a husband fail due to her lack of confidence.

Meanwhile, Colin returns from his travels with a new look and confidence, only to discover that Penelope is avoiding him. Wanting to regain her friendship, Colin offers to help Penelope gain confidence and find a husband. However, as his lessons begin to work, Colin must confront his true feelings for Penelope.

Adding to Penelope's challenges is her strained relationship with Eloise, as well as the difficulty of keeping her alter ego as Lady Whistledown a secret while her presence in higher society grows.

The prequel series Queen Charlotte was a hit with Bridgerton fans in May, but the main show has not released new episodes since season 2 in March 2022. Fans have been waiting for over two years and are eager to see what the Bridgerton children are up to now. In season 3, Colin Bridgerton will have his turn to find his match, even though fans know he has already met his true love – he just doesn't realize it yet.

The upcoming third season will focus on the love story between Colin and Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan). At the Tudum: A Global Fan Event in Brazil in June, Coughlan, 36, hinted at the new storyline.

"We start off the season with the ton's return from the countryside, and Penelope undergoes a transformation," Coughlan revealed. "Meanwhile, Colin Bridgerton returns from his travels in France, Spain, and Italy - looking quite dashing, I must say. Both Colin and Pen have matured, and we'll have to wait and see how their friendship evolves. For fans of the books, you might have an idea, but I can assure you that it will be a magical and romantic season."

The actress reiterated, "For this season, Penelope comes back to London with a firm resolve to transform into a new woman, embracing a newfound independence and determination. I guarantee you an outrageously scandalous season, and we are eager to have you join us for the carriage ride."

Bailey, 35, indicated that the famously sultry series will once again sizzle on screens. “It’s going to be exciting,” Bailey informed E! News last month about the new season. “It’s going to be fantastic. And also, my brother Luke Newton is heating things up with Nicola. So it’s going to be amazing.”

Friendships are also a major focus in Bridgerton. Penelope's best friend, Eloise Bridgerton (played by Claudia Jessie), who is Colin's sister, learns that Penelope is actually Lady Whistledown. This revelation causes a rift between the two friends at the end of the previous season. Will Eloise be able to forgive her friend? Viewers will have to tune in to the season 3 premiere in May and June to find out.
