Netflix Criticized for Monitoring Noah Schnapp

Netflix faces backlash for allegedly monitoring Noah Schnapp following his recent controversy, sparking outrage among devoted Stranger Things fans

A recent report has stated that Netflix is closely monitoring Noah Schnapp following his recent controversy, sparking a strong reaction from the online community. Schnapp, a rising star in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, has played the character Will Byers since the show's inception and is slated to return for the highly anticipated fifth and final season.

The actor recently faced criticism after being seen in a video laughing with friends in a coffee shop while they displayed "Zionism is sexy" and "Hamas is Isis" stickers during the Israel-Hamas conflict. This has led to fans urging Netflix to remove Schnapp from Stranger Things and even threatening to boycott Season 5. However, a new development in the ongoing controversy has emerged.

Netflix slammed for “keeping an eye” on Noah Schnapp

The Streamr's latest report indicates that there is ongoing monitoring of Noah Schnapp by Netflix. Despite this, it is reported that he is unlikely to be terminated, replaced, or written off in the upcoming concluding season of Stranger Things.

Although the news has not been confirmed by the streaming giant, the rumor has sparked an angry backlash, with many condemning the wider entertainment industry for terminating other actors due to their support for Palestinians.

One person noted in a tweet that Netflix is still keeping an eye on Schnapp without removing him from the show. They pointed out that Melissa Barrera was fired from Scream 7 for expressing her desire for the genocide to stop, while a white man who openly mocked the genocide of Palestinians was able to keep his job without repercussion.

"Calling a genocide sexy results in losing a job, but expressing support for Palestinian freedom leads to dismissal. This is white privilege at its peak," commented a third person, while a fourth person stated, "It's disgusting that Netflix is 'keeping an eye' on Noah Schnapp. They need to fire him."

In other conversations, many individuals continued to express intentions to boycott Season 5 of Stranger Things. "We won't be watching," one person stated, while another person declared, "We refuse to watch Stranger Things if he's in it."

A third added: “Too late. We are not watching anything he’s in anymore. He made his bed, now Netflix has to lay in it with him.”

As a devoted fan of Stranger Things, I am deeply troubled by the news that Netflix is monitoring Noah Schnapp following his recent controversy. While I understand that the actor's actions were offensive to many people, I believe that Netflix's response is excessive and unfair.

It is important to remember that Noah Schnapp is a young man who made a mistake. He has since apologized for his actions and expressed regret for the pain he caused. I believe that he deserves to be forgiven and given a second chance.

I am also concerned about the precedent that Netflix is setting by monitoring Noah Schnapp. If the company is willing to punish an actor for expressing his political views, it sends a chilling message to other actors who might want to speak out about important issues.

I urge Netflix to reconsider its stance on Noah Schnapp and to allow him to continue to play the character of Will Byers in Stranger Things. I believe that this is the fair and just thing to do.
