Nene Leakes Offers Unexpected Support to Kim Zolciak Amid Kroy Biermann Divorce: Unveiling the Untold Struggles

NeNe Leakes is setting aside her past issues with Kim Zolciak-Biermann to show support for her former Bravo colleague during her divorce from Kroy Biermann. NeNe, aged 55, revealed that she reached out to Kim in response to her earlier support during a difficult time in NeNe's life, likely referring to the passing of her husband, Gregg Leakes, in September 2021.

NeNe acknowledged that she was unsure about Zolciak-Biermann's overall well-being. However, she speculated that Zolciak-Biermann is likely struggling emotionally due to the divorce, as it is a challenging situation.

On May 8, it was announced that Zolciak-Biermann had filed for divorce from Biermann after being married for 11 years. Their separation coincides with financial difficulties, as it was reported in May that the couple owes the IRS $1.1 million in outstanding taxes, penalties, and interest.

Zolciak-Biermann, who has three sons with her ex-partner and two daughters from previous relationships, appeared on seasons 1 through 5 of RHOA alongside NeNe. She later returned as a "friend" of the show for season 10 in 2017.

The tension between NeNe and Zolciak-Biermann reached a climax in October 2017 when Brielle, Zolciak-Biermann's daughter, posted a video of cockroaches in NeNe's bathroom. NeNe accused Brielle of being "racist" for sharing the video on Instagram and referred to Zolciak-Biermann as a neglectful mother.

"We do not have cockroaches! If you discovered one, you must have brought it with you or it accidentally came out of your unclean genital area!" NeNe stated alongside the clip, which has now been deleted. "Just know that I will strongly confront you when you dare to mess with me and my loved ones!"

Zolciak-Biermann then defended her daughter's actions on her own Instagram, making it clear that Brielle had only shown the video to her and had done nothing wrong. "She did not share this video with anyone, and she would never do so!" she wrote at the time. "As you can see, I myself was not willing to pass on the video just for the sake of ratings for RHOA. The end of the story."

Zolciak-Biermann later mentioned during a March 2018 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that Brielle shared the video as a playful jab at her mother's fear of bugs. "I was furious when [NeNe] accused me of those things - fake stroke, fake whatever - so I sent the video," she told host Andy Cohen. "I am definitely not racist. I don't link any kind of bug - roach, spider - to race in my mind."

Despite apologizing for their social media feud the following month, Zolciak-Biermann persisted in accusing NeNe of being dishonest. "We both know the truth, we both know that if I wanted to, I could take legal action for the lies you have spread, tweeting fake texts, insinuating that I am racist, attacking me physically, claiming that my daughter tweeted negatively about you and your home, we both know these are falsehoods," she wrote as the caption for an Instagram photo of the two of them from the RHOA season 10 reunion.

NeNe is not the sole RHOA star who has expressed their support for Zolciak-Biermann amidst her messy split from Biermann. Marlo Hampton, during a May appearance on WWHL, shared her surprise at the divorce news and emphasized the need for prayers and a certified public accountant (CPA). Just last month, Shereé Whitfield also conveyed her shock at the former couple's breakup, believing they were meant to be together forever. She revealed that she has been in touch with Zolciak-Biermann and noted that she is not coping well with the situation.

Zolciak-Biermann is set to make a return on the July 9 episode of RHOA to reunite with Whitfield, 53, Lisa Wu and DeShawn Snow. NeNe, for her part, left the series for good after season 12 in 2020.
