Sister Wives star Mykelti Brown is grieving the passing of her brother, Garrison Brown.
"My heart aches for my brother who is no longer here, but I find comfort in knowing that he is in Valhalla, celebrating and battling alongside Odin," Mykelti, 27, shared in an Instagram post on Monday, March 11.
"I believe he is enjoying his new home among the stars," she added, alongside a photo of Garrison and her 2-year-old daughter, Avalon.
Mylkelti, the daughter of Christine Brown and Kody Brown, fondly remembers her late half-brother as the funniest person in the room and one cool dude. She expressed her sadness that her children will never get to experience Garrison's fun presence. Mykelti shares Avalon and twin sons Archer and Ace, 15 months, with her husband, Antonio "Tony" Padron.
"He will live on in all my family's memories," Mykelti shared. "Have fun up with the stars, little bro. You're missed."
Mykelti shared two meaningful quotes in her caption. The first one, from author Katie Kacvinsky, says, “But pain is like water. It always finds a way to come through. You can't stop it. Sometimes, you need to let yourself feel it before you can rise above it.”
The second quote is from the book The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis. It goes, “To love is to be open to vulnerability. When you love something, you risk getting hurt and your heart may break.”
Mykelti paid tribute to Garrison on the same day his family laid him to rest at his funeral. It was confirmed on March 5 that Garrison, aged 25, passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Kody, 55, and Janelle Brown released a statement addressing their son's passing on the same day. They shared on Instagram that he was a beloved presence in the lives of all who knew him. The loss has left a significant void in their lives, leaving them breathless. They kindly ask for privacy during this difficult time and invite others to join them in honoring his memory. (Kody and Janelle, 54, also have children named Logan, 29, Madison, 27, Hunter, 27, Gabriel, 22, and Savanah, 19.)
Several Sister Wives stars have shared their thoughts after Garrison’s passing. Christine, 51, remembered Garrison as a caring brother who built a flowerbed for her youngest daughter, Truely, 13. Along with Truely, Christine and Kody are parents to Aspyn, 28, Paedon, 25, Gwendlyn, 22, and Ysabel, 20. They will always miss him dearly.
Kody’s ex Meri Brown expressed that Garrison was a bright spot in the lives of everyone who knew him. She described the loss as leaving a huge hole in their lives and asked for privacy during this difficult time. Meri honored Garrison's memory by declaring that he is loved and will be greatly missed.
Garrison’s sister Maddie shared a heartfelt tribute to her late brother the day before his funeral. Expressing her grief, she wrote on Instagram on Sunday, March 10, "My words fall short. Our hearts are broken, filled with the love you left behind for us, dear brother 🩵. God be with you until we meet again. I look forward to seeing you at the gates of Valhalla, feasting with our ancestors who fought bravely before you. Until then, we must navigate a world that feels a little less bright without the light you brought."
