Brighton have turned down Chelsea's second offer for midfielder Moises Caicedo, which was higher than their initial bid and amounted to £80m. The Seagulls had previously rejected a £70m offer from Chelsea for the player, as they consider his value to be around £100m.
Brighton values Caicedo, who was acquired from Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle for £4.5m in 2021, on par with Arsenal's record-signing Declan Rice. They anticipate receiving around £100m for his transfer. Chelsea is reportedly optimistic about Caicedo joining their team if an agreement is reached between the clubs, as personal terms are not expected to pose an issue.
