Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a lawsuit from a woman who accuses him of sexual assault.
Court documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, May 21, reveal that model Crystal McKinney filed a lawsuit against Diddy, 54, alleging an incident that occurred in 2003. She claims they met at a Men’s Fashion Week event at Cipriani Downtown in New York City, where he invited her to his music studio.
McKinney went to the studio with Diddy after the event, where some of his colleagues were present. They were drinking Hennessy and passing joints around. McKinney smoked some of the joint and felt very powerful, like she was floating. She believes the joint may have been laced with a narcotic or some other drug.
After smoking, Diddy allegedly took McKinney to the bathroom where he forced himself on her. He kissed her, put his crotch in her face, and demanded she perform oral sex. McKinney refused his advances, but Diddy pushed her head down and forced her to comply.
After walking away, McKinney started feeling lightheaded and passed out. When she regained consciousness, she found herself in a taxi, realizing that she had been sexually assaulted. She did not specify whether it was during the alleged oral sex incident or another sexual act while she was unconscious.
Following the encounter with Diddy, McKinney stated that she was shunned by the modeling industry. This rejection led her to struggle with depression and even consider suicide in 2004.
McKinney was motivated to speak out after hearing about lawsuits filed by Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and others. (Diddy has denied previous allegations against him.)
We contacted Diddy for a response to McKinney’s claims but did not receive a reply before publication.
Diddy has recently faced backlash and legal troubles. Among the various lawsuits against him, he made headlines when a 2016 security footage showing him mistreating Cassie, now 37, was released by CNN. Following the video's release on Friday, May 17, Diddy took to social media to express his remorse.
In an Instagram video posted on Sunday, May 19, Diddy acknowledged the difficult task of reflecting on his past mistakes. He admitted to hitting rock bottom and expressed deep regret for his actions in the video. Taking full responsibility, he stated that his behavior was inexcusable and that he was disgusted by it.
The rapper shared, "I've been getting professional help, going to therapy and rehab, and praying for God's mercy and grace. I'm deeply sorry for my actions and I'm dedicated to improving myself every day. I'm not expecting forgiveness, but I truly regret what I've done."
