Taylor Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce has propelled her into the spotlight in the NFL. However, it is not just football players who admire the singer.
During a game in July 2023, Anthony Rizzo, the first baseman for the New York Yankees, decided to replace his walk-up song with Taylor Swift's popular track "Ready for It?" from her album Reputation. Remarkably, this change instantly helped him overcome his batting slump.
Rizzo achieved a perfect batting record of four hits out of four during the game against the Kansas City Royals, and even managed to hit his first home run in 45 games.
After the game, when asked about his success, Rizzo jokingly remarked to reporters, "Taylor Swift, she's really having a great summer. She's boosting the economy in every city she visits."
He's not the sole Yankees player with a deep love for the singer. Aaron Judge has identified himself as an avid fan of Swift during her earlier days, when she leaned more towards country music.
During an appearance on Mookie Betts' "On Base" podcast in June 2023, the outfielder playfully remarked, "I keep those songs that I enjoy hidden. When I'm gearing up for a game, some of her recent tracks instantly boost my mood. Whether I'm brushing my teeth or getting ready for the day, songs like 'Bad Blood' or '22' never fail to uplift me."
Although Judge couldn't make it to Swift's Eras Tour that year, he shared that a few of his teammates were able to attend the show. "Everyone else went. I guess Rizzo managed to snag a few T-shirts and sweatshirts," Judge remarked. "He was really going all out with the merchandise. He was on fire."

During a game in July 2023, Anthony Rizzo, the first baseman for the New York Yankees, decided to change his walk-up song to Swift's popular track "Ready for It?" from her album Reputation. Surprisingly, this move instantly improved his performance and helped him overcome his batting slump.
Rizzo had a flawless performance in the game against the Kansas City Royals, managing to achieve a perfect four for four. To add to his triumph, he also scored his first home run in 45 games. After the game, Rizzo humorously remarked to reporters, "Taylor Swift... It's really her season. She's positively contributing to the economy in every city she visits."
He's not the sole Yankees player with a strong love for the singer. Aaron Judge has labeled himself as an "early on" Swiftie during her earlier country music phase.
During an episode of fellow MLB star Mookie Betts' "On Base" podcast in June 2023, the outfielder jokingly mentioned, "We'll keep those songs that I enjoy hidden. Some of her newer tracks, listening to them before heading to the ballpark, instantly uplifts your spirits. Whether it's getting prepared for the day or brushing your teeth, a little 'Bad Blood' or '22' does the trick."
Judge couldn't make it to Swift's Eras Tour, but he mentioned that a few of his teammates were fortunate enough to attend. "Everyone else went. I believe Rizzo managed to grab a few T-shirts and sweatshirts," Judge explained. "He was really loading up on the merchandise, doing exceptionally well."
