Mind-Blowing New Image Unveils Spectacular Ahsoka Mural in Star Wars Rebels!

The upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka on Disney Plus offers a fresh perspective on an iconic image from the animated show Star Wars Rebels. This connection between the two shows was anticipated due to Ahsoka's role as a continuation of Rebels. However, the nature of this connection may be perplexing to some viewers.

Earlier this year, series creator Dave Filoni confirmed the link between Ahsoka and Rebels, leading to heightened excitement among Star Wars Rebels fans. The new live-action series will see the return of several characters from Rebels, along with Rosario Dawson portraying the central character Ahsoka Tano. A newly unveiled image further emphasizes this connection. While some viewers may have already seen a lower-quality version of this visual last year, seeing it now in higher quality is a surreal experience.

The mural in question, along with several other high-quality images from Ahsoka, was recently unveiled. The Star Wars TV Updates Twitter account shared these captivating visuals, including the one featuring Sabine Wren, now portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo in live-action. In this image, Sabine gazes at the mural, providing viewers with an exceptional perspective. It is worth noting that Sabine was the one who originally painted the mural in the show, making this shot particularly fitting. What adds an intriguing twist to the story is that the mural appears to have been redrawn by a new artist. Nevertheless, the artist managed to preserve the distinctive style of the original artwork seen in Rebels, thereby presenting a canon representation of these animated characters in the live-action series. Such a blending of mediums could potentially be a first in the Star Wars universe.

Notably, certain elements of the updated mural bear a striking resemblance to the previous depiction. For instance, the visage of Rebels' main character, Ezra Bridger (who will also make an appearance in Ahsoka), remains virtually unchanged. However, the artist has taken creative liberties with other characters. This is particularly apparent with Zeb, the towering purple extraterrestrial who played a significant role in Rebels and even made a recent cameo in The Mandalorian, with the voice of Steve Blum reprising the role. While there are some minor alterations sprinkled throughout, the majority of the mural faithfully captures the spirit of its original rendition.

The recently released image appears to be a live-action recreation of a scene from Rebels' epilogue, showing Sabine gazing at a mural before embarking on a search for Ezra with Ahsoka. This supports the belief that Ahsoka will continue the story from Rebels while occasionally revisiting the events of the previous show. In Rebels, Ezra executed a daring plan to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn, sacrificing himself and Thrawn by launching them into hyperspace to save the rebels. Now, the search for Ezra seems to be a significant part of Ahsoka's overall storyline. However, if Ahsoka and Sabine locate Ezra, it is likely they will also encounter Thrawn, necessitating their preparedness.

Furthermore, other newly released images provide high-definition glimpses of familiar characters such as Ahsoka herself, Hera Syndulla (originally from Rebels, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and new characters Shin Hati (portrayed by Ivanna Sakhno) and Baylan Skoll (played by the late Ray Stevenson). This clear depiction of both the original and returning characters intensifies the excitement surrounding the show. Fortunately, the release of Ahsoka is fast approaching, leaving fans with barely any wait time.

Ahsoka will premiere on August 23rd on Disney Plus.
