The largest living dragon in the game currently is Apep, the Dendro elemental dragon. Apep was once the ruler of the Sumeru region and players can now engage in a Weekly Boss fight against him in the Guardian of Apep's Oasis domain. Although players only see Apep's silhouette during the fight, it is evident that he surpasses all other dragons in size.

Apep has become a popular boss fight due to the valuable drop materials used for crafting recent character releases like Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. Many fans in the comment section speculate that Dvalin appears smaller than the others because the game developers had to resize his model to maintain consistency with the boss fight.

Despite its smaller size, Dvalin managed to defeat Durin, the shadow dragon that is believed to be much larger than the Anemo dragon according to the chart. Durin was created by the infamous alchemist Rhinedottir, who is also known as the Great Sinner.

Durin attacked Mondstadt 500 years ago, before the current timeline of the game, and after its defeat, the dragon's remains fell on the Vindagnyr mountain.
