Mike Caussin Playfully Teases Jana Kramer, Admits Favoring Her Fiancé Allan Russell

During an episode of Jana Kramer's "Whine Down" podcast, Mike Caussin expressed his admiration for Jana's fiancé, Allan Russell. He playfully joked about Jana no longer being the most attractive person in their relationship. This comment was made during their recent conversation.

From his appearance to his style, Caussin showered Russell, 42, with a flurry of compliments.

"This guy is something else - we were at soccer practice on a beautiful autumn day and he showed up in a peacoat straight from the U.K. His hair was flowing and he just exuded charm," gushed the former football player, who shares daughter Jolie, 7, and Jace, 4, with Kramer, 39. "I swear, as I watched from behind, he turned to the right and the wind brushed against him so perfectly. It was like he was moving in slow motion. That guy truly knows how to live in the present."

Caussin amusingly mentioned that he could possibly prefer Russell over Kramer, and added, "That speaks volumes about the person Jana has found. The person she has found and truly deserves."

The reunion of Kramer and Caussin on the podcast may be unexpected considering the ups and downs they have experienced as a former couple. They tied the knot in 2015 but separated the following year when news broke of the retired athlete's infidelity. After Caussin sought help for his sex addiction, they reconciled and renewed their vows in 2017.

In April 2021, Us revealed that Kramer had filed for divorce after almost six years of marriage. Their divorce was officially completed three months later.

Kramer disclosed the specific argument that ultimately led to the end of their relationship in her newly published book, The Next Chapter: Making Peace with Hard Memories, Finding Hope All Around Me, and Clearing Space for Good Things to Come. The actress recounted a disagreement with Caussin that arose when he neglected to do the laundry.

Kramer alleged that Caussin insulted her by saying, "I didn't know you were so incapacitated," while throwing wet clothes at her after her breast augmentation surgery. According to her, he further expressed indifference by stating, "That didn't hurt. Get up," resembling the behavior of a former partner.

Following this incident, Kramer has now found love with Russell, whom she met via social media. After dating for six months, the couple happily announced their engagement in May.

"I feel like being with you forever is the right thing, and it has felt that way since the day I first met you, @kramergirl. I am proud to call you my fiancé, and I cherish every moment we spend together. I love you, my brave little warrior xxx," the soccer player expressed in the caption of an Instagram post.

Kramer also shared the story of Caussin's reaction to her engagement on her podcast in the same month, saying, "He said, 'Hey, I'm really happy for you. Allan's a great guy.' I couldn't help but cry because he added, 'Out of all people, you deserve someone who loves and respects you. You deserve this.' He said, 'After everything I put you through, you deserve this more than anyone.' It meant the world to me that he said that."

One month later, the One Tree Hill alum announced that she is expecting a baby with Russell.
