While Konami's press release stated that the "original voice characters" would appear in the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, a tweet also confirmed that the story and character voices would remain unchanged. It appears that this statement is meant quite literally.
In recent years, fans have come to expect some degree of changes in remakes, whether to the story or characters. For example, Dead Space brought back the voice actor of its protagonist to re-record lines and included new areas to explore.
