Meghan Markle's new podcast may not be released anytime soon. According to royal expert Richard Eden, the Duchess of Sussex's upcoming podcast project has been delayed and is now scheduled for 2025, as reported in the Daily Mail on April 22.
Eden also mentioned that a source from California revealed that Meghan's new podcast network, Lemonada, wanted to ensure that the launch of the podcast was not overshadowed by her upcoming Netflix series. Meghan and Prince Harry had previously announced their collaboration with Netflix to develop two nonfiction shows, which are currently in production.
In February, it was confirmed that Meghan, 42, had partnered with Lemonada Media for a new podcast deal. The Duchess of Sussex expressed her pride in joining the talented team and continuing her passion for podcasting in a statement she made at that time.
The statement mentioned that supporting a female founded company with interesting podcasts is a great way to start 2024. The plan includes re-releasing Archetypes to reach more people and launching a new dynamic podcast.
Although no specific details about Meghan's upcoming show were shared, a report from Eden's Monday Daily Mail mentioned that Lemonada is worried about potential scheduling conflicts.
Meghan recently signed a deal with Lemonada, following Spotify's cancellation of her "Archetypes" podcast in June 2023 after 12 episodes were released.
A statement released after the cancellation expressed the team's pride in the creation of "Archetypes" at Spotify. It was mentioned that Meghan is now working on creating more content for the "Archetypes" audience on a different platform.
The Lemonada Media agreement included plans to release the “Archetypes” podcast alongside Meghan’s upcoming show. According to a source speaking to Us in February, the new podcast is expected to be “dynamic.”
The insider mentioned that Meghan aims to focus mainly on philanthropic topics in her podcast. She sees herself as more scholarly than just entertaining. While she won’t make the podcast centered on celebrities, there will be some guest appearances by stars.
Meghan's podcast was announced a month before she revealed her new brand, American Riviera Orchard, on March 14th after a four-year break from Instagram. It has been confirmed that Meghan has filed trademarks to sell various products like cutlery, cookbooks, and jarred foods under the American Riviera Orchard name.
The lifestyle brand, which has not yet announced a launch date, seems to be a continuation of Meghan's previous blog, The Tig.

The postponement of Meghan Markle's podcast project to 2025 is a significant development in the media landscape. While the reasons behind the delay are not fully disclosed, it is speculated that Lemonada Media, Meghan's podcast network, wants to avoid overshadowing her upcoming Netflix series. This strategic move demonstrates the importance of timing and coordination in the entertainment industry.
Notably, Meghan's new podcast was initially intended to launch in 2023, aligning with the release of her "Archetypes" podcast on Spotify. However, the cancellation of "Archetypes" in June 2023 necessitated a change in plans. The delay provides Meghan and Lemonada Media with ample time to develop and refine the podcast concept while ensuring that it complements her other media ventures. Overall, the postponement of Meghan's podcast project reflects the complexities and considerations involved in content creation and release strategies in the modern media landscape.
