Meghan Markle is skilled at doing her own hair and makeup while on her tour of Nigeria, according to makeup artist Daniel Martin. Martin, who did the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding glam, shared exclusively with We at the Gold Gala on Saturday, May 11 that Meghan is able to have fun and be creative with her look when he is not around. He mentioned that she is currently in Nigeria handling everything herself without the help of a stylist or hairdresser, and she is doing a great job at it.
Meghan, who is 42 years old, is currently in Nigeria on an official tour with her husband Prince Harry, who is 39. They arrived earlier this week to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games. While in Nigeria, Meghan received some helpful makeup tips from Martin in order to achieve her stunning looks.
According to Martin, Meghan is a fan of blush and loves to highlight her cheekbones. She also prefers a bold, defined brow to complete her makeup look.
Harry, on the other hand, likes it when his wife doesn't wear any makeup on her face, according to the cosmetics expert.
Even though Martin hasn't collaborated with Meghan for almost two years, when she was in New York, they still stay in touch regularly. Martin also gives his approval of her self-applied glamour.
Martin joked about how skilled she is at doing her own makeup. He admired her independence and uniqueness.
He also mentioned working with Meghan to achieve her simple makeup look for her wedding to Harry in 2018.
"That was a memorable moment in my career," he remembered on Saturday. "It was when Instagram makeup was becoming popular. Everyone was into doing live videos and showing every step of their makeup routine. Then, the big moment arrived: the bride appeared wearing very little makeup, and I faced criticism."
Martin continued, "I received backlash for my work, but it allowed me to truly see her personality. The important thing was getting to know her as a person, rather than focusing on the grandeur of the wedding."

Meghan Markle's ability to do her own hair and makeup on her tour of Nigeria highlights her independence and versatility. While she has received guidance from makeup artist Daniel Martin in the past, her current self-sufficiency showcases her confidence in her own beauty and style. Martin's admiration for her independence adds another layer to the discussion of women's empowerment in the public eye.
The article also sheds light on the differing preferences of Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry. While Harry prefers a more natural look on his wife, Meghan enjoys experimenting with makeup and enhancing her features. This contrast reflects the diversity of personal preferences within relationships and the importance of respecting individual choices.
