Rio de Janeiro's Mayor, Eduardo Paes, is determined to pay tribute to Taylor Swift in a grand manner before her Brazil Eras Tour shows. In a post shared on social media on November 12, Paes, aged 53, reposted an image from a fan account, featuring the legendary Christ the Redeemer Statue adorned in Swift's iconic Junior Jewels shirt from her music video for "You Belong With Me." Paes promptly responded on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his commitment to making this idea come to fruition.
"Dear fans of @taylorswift13, I will approach Father Omar to explore the possibility of obtaining this prestigious honor. In case you are unaware, Father Omar is responsible for overseeing the projections associated with the statue. It's important to note that I do not possess the ultimate authority in making this decision, and I would like to reference another popular artist, Beyoncé, in this context."

Paes clarified that City Hall does not have authority over the police and took the opportunity to remind swifties that the mayor cannot fulfill their demand for policing. In an analogy, he likened it to attending Taylor's show and expecting her to perform Beyoncé's hit, "Single Ladies." To ensure public order in the surrounding area, the Municipal Guard and our teams will implement a special plan.
Swift, aged 33, has scheduled three concerts in Rio De Janeiro, which will take place at Estádio Nilton Santos from Friday, November 17, to Sunday, November 19. Subsequently, she will be making her way back to perform three consecutive evenings at the renowned Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, starting on Friday, November 24.
Once her performances in Brazil come to an end, Swift will embark on a journey across Asia, Europe, and Australia, before ultimately returning to the United States and Canada in October of 2024.
Swift's highly successful The Eras Tour, which showcases her entire musical journey spanning ten eras, commenced in March. Forbes reported in mid-October that the tour emerged as the highest-earning summer concert tour of 2023, amassing a staggering $780 million from its 56 shows across the United States.
Swift announced in August that The Eras Tour, following its immense popularity, would be transformed into a film for the big screen. Excitedly, via Instagram in October 2023, she shared a trailer for the film and informed her fans that starting October 13th, they would have the opportunity to experience the concert film in theaters across North America. Tickets are now available for purchase at amctheaters.com. Additionally, Swift encouraged concertgoers to wear Eras attire, bring friendship bracelets, and join in singing and dancing. She playfully exclaimed, "1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (if you know, you know)."

The Eras Tour movie garnered $92.8 million from 3,850 domestic theaters during its opening weekend at the box office, with an additional $30.7 million generated from international markets, as disclosed by AMC. Following the movie's release in October, Bloomberg reported that the songstress behind "Lavender Haze" had achieved billionaire status.
Based on a Bloomberg News Analysis, it is estimated that Swift's net worth is approximately $1.1 billion. She stands out as one of the rare artists who achieved such a status solely through her music and performances, demonstrating a combination of hard work, talent, strategic marketing, and impeccable timing.
