However, the highlight of this update has been the revamp of the Genius Invokation TCG with the introduction of numerous new cards. These cards aim to shake up the meta of the strategy card game and provide players with fresh options to showcase their creativity in building optimal decks with their favorite characters.
Zhongli is an essential addition to the TCG as he brings new playable character cards to the game. With his role in Genshin Impact gameplay, he can create strong shields and also fulfill a support DPS role. His Stone Steele summon and powerful Elemental Burst allow him to perform both tasks seamlessly. Therefore, players looking for a deck that offers defense and substantial DPS potential can greatly benefit from including Zhongli in their strategy.
Zhongli Card & Skills
Obtaining Zhongli's Character card and Talent card is a straightforward process that can be accomplished by any player. One simply needs to head over to the Cat's Tail and utilize a Match Invitation Letter to invite Zhongli to engage in a duel. After completing the objectives and winning the duel, players can acquire his cards. Unlike other TCGs, there's no particular duelist level requirement to unlock Zhongli's cards, making it possible for beginners to obtain them early on.

Zhongli + Itto + Kokomi
This team composition boasts an exceptional combination of high stall potential and impressive damage output. While a mono Geo team can be achieved by swapping Kokomi for Noelle or other Geo characters, having Kokomi on the team allows for the use of the Thunder and Eternity resonance card and having two Inazuma characters. This is particularly beneficial for Zhongli as it allows for more consistent access to 5 Geo dice for his Elemental Skill.
In addition, Kokomi can potentially enable elemental reactions if the opponent is using self-element application, as demonstrated in certain Tavern Challenges. While some players may feel that having a healer in this team composition is unnecessary due to the presence of shields, this may not be enough to withstand decks that focus on strong bursts or piercing damage. As a result, relying on a healer or healing support cards may be necessary. Utilizing Geo Elemental Resonance cards can also enhance the shielding capability of this deck even further.
Zhongli + Hu Tao + Xingqiu
Players who have acquired Hu Tao, Xingqiu, and Zhongli in Genshin Impact will recognize the potency of this team composition. Even after numerous updates, these characters can sustain themselves without the need for a healer, thanks to Hu Tao's self-healing and strong shields. In the TCG, players will find that their rotation is similar to that in the actual gameplay, allowing them to maintain shields with Zhongli and Xingqiu while also performing potent Vaporize reactions.
To maximize the potential of this team, players should begin by using Zhongli's Elemental Skill, followed by swapping to Xingqiu and activating his burst. Finally, players should switch to Hu Tao for high damage output that can even one-shot opponents. It is worth mentioning that the Starsign card can be highly beneficial in this deck, allowing Xingqiu to quickly use his Elemental Burst. While the regional resonance card for Liyue, Stone and Contracts, may be useful, it may not be as effective as Thunder and Eternity in many cases.
Zhongli + Nahida + Raiden Shogun
This team composition is ideal for players looking to focus on a full Archon character deck, particularly those who want to make the most of Zhongli. The combination of Nahida and Raiden Shogun can deal significant damage through the Quicken reactions and Nahida's Seed of Skandha ability, while also delivering piercing damage. Raiden Shogun's ability to generate 2 Energy after using her burst can greatly aid Nahida and Zhongli's bursts, both of which are potent.
To maximize the potential of this team, players should start with Zhongli's Elemental Skill before switching to Raiden Shogun to use her Elemental Skill and follow it up with normal attacks. If lucky with dice rolls and card draws, players can use the bursts of Raiden and Nahida or Zhongli on the next turn. Zhongli's unique ability to petrify opponents, effectively disabling their skills until the end of the round, makes it advisable to use his ability early on to disrupt opponents effectively.
Recommended Action Cards
When focusing on Zhongli and other shielding characters, players can benefit from using equipment cards like General's Ancient Helm or Mask of Solitude. However, for decks without a healer, it may be more advantageous to prioritize cards that cater to the needs of individual characters over Zhongli's abilities. Including HP-increasing support cards can ensure that even if Zhongli's shield is breached, players can maintain high HP levels.
Dice management is crucial for efficient combos, and players can use cards like Varanara or The Bestest Travel Companion to recycle unwanted elemental dice. Timmie is also a valuable addition to Zhongli decks, offering additional omni-dice after a few rounds. While Zhongli does not require frequent swapping, players can consider adding Katheryne and Dawn Winery to their decks for extra flexibility.
