Mastering Remote Raid Passes: Your Ultimate Pokemon GO Guide

Discover the strategic use of Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon GO Learn about their price, limits, and find out the top raids to optimize your gameplay experience

Raids in Pokemon GO allow trainers to battle challenging Pokemon either alone or in a group. A Raid can be identified by a large Egg or a Pokemon floating above a Gym. Participating in a Raid requires a Raid Pass, which comes in two types: a regular one that can only be used near the Gym, and a Remote Raid Pass. The latter allows players to join a Raid from any location, eliminating the need to physically travel to the Gym. However, Remote Raid Passes are not easily obtained in the game, so trainers are advised to use them sparingly to avoid wasting them.

All About Remote Raid Passes (Price, Limits, etc)

Players of Pokemon GO receive a free Raid Pass each day, but Remote Raid Passes must be purchased. They can be bought individually for 195 Poke Coins or in a bundle of three for 525 Poke Coins. Niantic increased these prices as an incentive for players to participate in in-person Raids. Alternatively, players can obtain a Remote Raid Pass by purchasing the Limited Time Only Remote Raid Box for 315 Poke Coins, which typically includes two Remote Raid Passes as well as five Hyper Potions.

The Shop can be accessed by:

Selecting the Poke Ball icon on the main screen.

Selecting Shop.

Select the Remote Raid Box under Limited Time Only! or scroll down to the Items category to purchase individual Remote Raid Pass or x3 Remote Raid Passes.

The maximum number of Remote Raid Battlers allowed per day is five. If there are already five Battlers using Remote Raid Passes in the Gym Lobby, any additional trainers will not be able to join.

Unfortunately, these decisions have not been well received by the community. Many Pokémon GO players reside in remote areas, which makes it difficult for them to participate in raids, especially when the nearest gym is miles away. Additionally, some players were dissatisfied with the limitation on the number of participants in the Lobby. Reducing the number of Remote Raid Battlers to five can create more challenges for those hosting Raids against powerful Raid Bosses, such as Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.

Here's how to use a Remote Raid Pass:

Select the bar featuring three nearby Pokemon under the Binoculars icon on the main screen.

Select the Raid tab.

Choose any Ongoing Raid, and then select BATTLE using a Remote Raid Pass.

What Are The Best Raids for Remote Raid Passes?

Mastering Remote Raid Passes: Your Ultimate Pokemon GO Guide

Despite the restriction of 5 players per Lobby, Remote Raid Passes can be utilized to participate in any Raid. The ideal occasion to employ them is when there is a Pokemon Raid occurring at a nearby Gym that trainers desire to capture, especially if the Lobby consists of more than just a few individuals.

Nonetheless, certain Raids, such as 1-star Raids (distinguished by Pink Eggs), feature Pokemon with CP ranging from 1500 to 3000. These Raid Pokemon possess the same CP range as the Pokemon belonging to Team GO Rocket Grunts. Hence, if trainers are capable of emerging victorious against the Grunts, they should encounter no difficulty in taking on a 1-star Raid single-handedly.

On the other hand, Raid Battles with 3-star difficulty feature Pokemon with CP over 11,000. Even though trainers can bring six Pokemon to these battles, facing a Raid Boss with five-digit CP can still present a challenge. If trainers are unable to defeat the Raid Pokemon but still have one Pokemon remaining, they are likely to be kicked out once the timer runs out. Therefore, it is advisable to tackle 3-star Raids with a group of people.

Moreover, Remote Raid Passes are suitable for Ultra Beast, Legendary, 5-star, or Mega Raids. Considering the substantial difficulty of these Raids, it is preferable not to use a Remote Pass unless trainers have a large group participating in the battle. Attempting difficult raids with a group of only three people is essentially the same as wasting their Remote Raid Pass.

In short:

Trainers that want to solo a Raid, should only use their Remote Raid Pass for 1-star Raids.

Content must be written in English:

- In a small group, they can try a 3-star Raid.

- For Legendary/Mega/Ultra Beast/5-star Raids, trainers should only use the Remote Raid Pass if they are certain that a large group will be present in the Lobby.

Using a Remote Raid Pass and losing to the Pokemon may result in obtaining nothing, essentially wasting the pass. To avoid this, it is advisable to save the passes instead of using them for every nearby Raid. Given the increased prices of Remote Raid Passes, trainers are strongly encouraged to carefully choose when to use their passes. Pokemon GO can be downloaded and played on mobile devices.
