By clicking on their player icon photo located at the bottom-left corner of the main home screen in Pokemon GO, players can access their Medal collection beneath Gym Badges. In the top section of Medals, various tasks are available, including catching Pokemon from specific regions, battling gyms, and Mega Evolving Pokemon.
As part of the ongoing Pokemon GO 7th Anniversary Party event, players can visit the in-game shop to purchase the Masterwork Research known as All-in-One #151. By completing the tasks associated with this research, players will have an opportunity to capture a Shiny Mew, along with other rewards. The process consists of four extensive steps, with the first step posing the most significant challenge for players.
How to Get Platinum Kanto Medal
To obtain the Platinum Kanto Medal in Pokemon GO, trainers must register all 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region in their Pokedex. To track their progress, players can tap the Poke Ball in the center of the map screen, select Pokedex, and view the number above 'Kanto' at the top of the screen. Scrolling down the Kanto section of the Pokedex will display any missing Pokemon.
This task can be time-consuming, particularly when trying to capture elusive creatures like Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. However, players who purchase the ticket from the store can take advantage of the special Research Story, ensuring that Shiny Mew will remain available and not expire.
Below, we will explain how players can acquire the Platinum Kanto Medal by obtaining some of the more challenging Pokemon:
Mewtwo - Currently, it is not possible to capture Mewtwo. Players will need to patiently wait for a special event or a featured raid battle.
Mew - Currently, the only method to obtain Mew (aside from the Masterwork Research) is by completing a unique research task known as 'A Mythical Discovery.' This special research consists of eight steps, and upon reaching the seventh step, players are rewarded with an encounter with Mew.
Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno - The legendary birds mentioned above, Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno, are currently available to challenge in Pokemon GO Raid Battles until July 13, 10 am, according to local time.
