Fortnite is known for its unique seasonal themes, and Chapter 4 Season 3, or Fortnite WILDS, is no exception. This season, players must navigate the jungle and face challenges such as mud and Raptors, all while exploring ancient temple ruins for valuable loot. However, gaining access to the inner rooms of these ruins requires players to offer a worthy item, making it all the more challenging. To help players, this guide will reveal the locations of every temple in Fortnite and provide tips on how to gain entry.

Gamers can explore three temple ruins on the Fortnite Battle Royale island, each with a secret vault that requires a valuable item to access. These jungle POIs were introduced at the beginning of Chapter 4 Season 3, and can be found at the Northern Ruins, which are situated northeast of Shady Stilts, the Hidden Ruins, located northwest of Creeky Compound, and the Rumble Ruins, situated on the bottom floor of the grand Rumble Ruins temple.
How to Open Temple Vaults
Players will come across a door in the temple ruins that can only be opened by sacrificing a valuable item. The challenge lies in determining which item is worthy enough to open the door. Fortunately, there is a clue provided in the form of colored smoke emitted by the door. The hue of the smoke corresponds to the rarity of the item required for entry, with blue, purple, or white smoke indicating the rarity level. Alternatively, players can opt to offer a higher rarity item to gain access.
Exotic items can also be used to open temple vaults.
Are Temple Vaults Worth Opening?
Since players have to allow a high-rarity item to be consumed in order to open a temple vault, doing this might not always be worth it.
High-rarity weapons like Epic, Legendary, and Mythic are hard to find, unlike the more common Rare rarity weapons that are relatively easier to acquire. However, if players end up with a high-rarity item that doesn't suit their playstyle, they can sacrifice it to open a temple and avoid wasting it. This also gives them a chance to discover a weapon that they enjoy using instead.
