Master the Journey to Risen Road: Unveiling the Ultimate Guide to Baldur's Gate 3

Risen Road, located in the first explorable area of Baldur's Gate 3, is a noteworthy subregion. Many new adventurers will stumble upon this place while exploring the Emerald Grove, only to face formidable enemies that overpower them.

While not entirely safe for inexperienced adventurers, Risen Road offers various important quests and encounters that can significantly contribute to the success of players in the rest of Baldur's Gate 3. This guide provides information on the possible entry points to this location and highlights the most engaging activities that players should undertake upon arrival.

Baldur's Gate 3: Risen Road Map

Risen Road is located far to the north of the Ravaged Beach, beyond the Emerald Grove and the goblin-infested Blighted Village. The most convenient way to reach this area is by taking the path behind the village and jumping across the broken bridge. While it is not necessary to eliminate the goblin ambushers in the Blighted Village, players may wish to deal with the sleeping bugbear near the blacksmith's house and explore the barn to investigate the cause of the loud noises coming from inside.

Alternatively, players can also access Risen Road by leaping over the rocks in the stream below the bridge. However, it is important to note that one of these routes leads directly to a potentially dangerous encounter with Bloated Hyenas, which cannot be avoided. If players choose to engage with these creatures, it is advisable to eliminate them swiftly. Otherwise, their bellies will burst open, releasing newborn gnolls and triggering a battle.

Beyond this hill lies a formidable pack of fully grown gnolls, capable of obliterating any group below Level 4. Overcoming this challenge will reward adventurers with valuable treasures and an essential boost in experience points.

Players have two options from here. They can either follow the chaos to a trading outpost that has turned into a massacre site or go to a cave where two caravaneers are trying to defend against a horde of gnolls. Choosing the former route will lead them to Paladin Anders, who is on a mission to find the devil Karlach. On the other hand, taking the latter route will lead them to a side quest involving delivering a missing shipment.

Located to the west of Risen Road is Waukeen's Rest, an inn that recently suffered a raid by drow and goblins. Players have the opportunity to save the people trapped in the burning building and be rewarded for their heroic efforts. Additionally, they can explore the wine cellar behind the main building to discover the entrance to the Zhentarim Hideout, a covert base operated by a questionable black market group.

Ignore the entrance to the Mountain Pass located further west of the road until all other tasks at this stage of the game have been completed. Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available on PC, and a PS5 version will be released shortly.
