The main priority for many players of The Sims 4 is taking care of Sims and building families. To add excitement and explore different aspects of the game, players often seek out challenges created by community members. While popular challenges like the Not So Berry Challenge and the Decades Challenge are commonly chosen, lesser-known challenges like the Globetrotter Challenge can provide a more immersive experience for creating meaningful narratives.

In this challenge, players will journey through seven unique worlds in The Sims 4 and thoroughly explore every aspect by completing aspirations. Unlike other challenges, this one is played with a single Sim and emphasizes gameplay rather than accumulating wealth. By the end of the challenge, players will have developed a well-rounded Sim with new life experiences and expertise in each assigned expansion.

The rules for this challenge were created by Moonfi.

Round One: Mt. Komorebi

Master the Globetrotter Challenge in The Sims 4: Ultimate Guide

In the beginning of summer, the protagonist of this challenge embarks on a journey to Mt. Komorebi — the snowy world of Snowy Escape — in search of a fresh start. However, the cost of the ticket depleted their entire life savings. Undeterred, they set up camp on an empty plot of land and make it their temporary home. During this phase of their life, the Sim yearns to explore the wonders of Mt. Komorebi.

To fulfill this desire, players must strive to accomplish the Mt. Komorebi Sightseer aspiration. This aspiration guides Sims through the intricacies of this world, urging them to participate in festivals, visit popular spots, and savor the local cuisine. They discover convenient ways to earn money, such as selling produce and fish from nearby gardens and community lots. Additionally, the Sim develops a passion for knitting, so players should at least make an effort to complete the Lord/Lady of the Knits aspiration before progressing to the next destination.

Round Two: Sulani

Master the Globetrotter Challenge in The Sims 4: Ultimate Guide

As summer transitions into autumn and fades away, giving way to the brisk winter breeze, the Sim decides to seek warmer climates after exploring all the attractions and mastering the skill of knitting. With the intention of finding solace in Sulani, the Sim sells the majority of their possessions and embarks on a journey to this tropical paradise, where they can revel in the sensation of warm sand beneath their feet and enjoy the refreshing embrace of the ocean.

To fully immerse themselves in the Island Living experience, players are encouraged to choose the Beach Life aspiration. This entails unraveling the secrets hidden within a mysterious cave, indulging in delicious island cuisine, and achieving success at the coveted Kava party, where gold awaits. It is advisable to strive for completing this aspiration before venturing into the next realm as spring approaches.

Round Three: StrangerVille

When spring arrives in Sulani, the Sim becomes restless and eager to relocate. Their desired destination is Granite Falls, but they end up lost during their journey and unexpectedly arrive in StrangerVille instead. This peculiar town is teeming with unusual flora, and its inhabitants exhibit bizarre behavior, sprinting erratically with twisted necks and incessantly discussing their mysterious "Mother."

Unable to resist their inquisitiveness, the Sim resolves to establish a campsite and unravel the enigma of StrangerVille. They embark on the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration, guiding them in their mission to find a cure for the infected Sims and ultimately defeat the Mother Plant.

Round Four: Granite Falls

The globetrotter will finally arrive in Granite Falls from the Outdoor Retreat game pack next spring. Spring is the perfect season for hiking in the forest, learning about herbalism, and appreciating nature. The Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration will guide the Sim in developing their fishing, herbalism, and cooking skills, all of which are important for camping. Completing this aspiration will reward the Sim with the Survivalist trait, which is helpful for living off the land.

To successfully complete this aspiration, players should make the most of the spring and summer seasons, as many unidentified plants and herbs needed for the aspiration will bloom during this time. Additionally, there is a secondary aspiration called the Angling Ace aspiration that players can try if they successfully complete the primary aspiration.

Round Five: Selvadorada

Master the Globetrotter Challenge in The Sims 4: Ultimate Guide

In the summer, this Sim craves a change of scenery and stumbles upon Selvadorada, a vibrant jungle town inspired by Latin America, featured in the Jungle Adventure expansion pack. While exploring there, they uncover ancient artifacts, discover hidden treasures, and enjoy dancing at the local cantina. To aid their adventures, the Archeology Scholar aspiration is recommended.

Additionally, the secondary aspiration for this world is Jungle Explorer. To successfully complete this secondary aspiration and navigate the Jungle District, the player Sim can invite their friends to join their household. However, it is important to note that the Sim will need to remove their friends' monetary contributions from the family funds and evenly distribute any profits made from selling artifacts and treasures. Once the journey to Selvadorada is concluded, it is advised to move the friend back out.

Round Six: Evergreen Harbor

Master the Globetrotter Challenge in The Sims 4: Ultimate Guide

When the leaves transition into vibrant hues, it signals the perfect time for a new destination. Seeking a slower pace and greater connection with the local community, the adventurous traveler sets their sights on Evergreen Harbor from the Eco Lifestyle expansion during the autumn months. Embark on a journey by pursuing the Master Maker aspiration, guiding Sims to acquire fabrication skills, understand the significance of recycling, and master the art of crafting candles as they progress towards fulfilling this aspiration.

Adding to the array of aspirations introduced in Eco Lifestyle is the Eco Innovator aspiration. Serving as a secondary and optional goal to conquer, players can strive to complete it before moving forward. This aspiration empowers the Sim to actively engage in community initiatives and enhance the overall atmosphere of the city.

Round Seven: Glimmerbrook OR Forgotten Hollow

Master the Globetrotter Challenge in The Sims 4: Ultimate Guide

There are two options available to the player for completing the seventh round of this challenge, depending on which occult pack they have downloaded. During the winter season, the Sim can journey to Glimmerbrook from the Realm of Magic. Guide the Sim through the town and lead them to the enigmatic glowing portal that leads to the Magical Realm. Once there, they will embark on a journey to become a powerful spellcaster by fulfilling both the Spellcraft and Sorcery aspiration (main) and the Purveyor of Portions aspiration (secondary).

Alternatively, if the player prefers the Vampires expansion, the Sim can instead choose to travel to Forgotten Hollow during winter. Upon arrival, they will have the chance to meet the renowned Count Vladislaus. In this location, the Sim will unlock the secrets of immortality and embrace vampirism by completing the Master Vampire aspiration.

Round Eight

In the final round of the challenge, participants are encouraged to write a book about their travel experiences as a Sim. The aim is to complete both the Bestselling Author and Freelance Botanist aspirations for added enjoyment.

Once free from the limitations and regulations of the challenge, players can choose their favorite world and finally construct a deserving house for their Sim. They may even consider starting their own family to travel along with them. Exploring past favorite worlds or embarking on the next adventure of attending university are other options. Additionally, players can create their own rules and continue the challenge in unexplored worlds.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
