The Sims 4's latest expansion pack, Horse Ranch, will be released on July 20, offering players a wealth of exciting new gameplay content. Game Rant recently attended EA's virtual preview event for Horse Ranch, providing a sneak peek at all the fresh features this expansion pack has in store for The Sims 4.

The expansion pack introduces a brand new world called Chestnut Ridge, showcasing expansive canyons, meandering rivers, and breathtaking vistas. Within Chestnut Ridge, players can explore three distinct neighborhoods: Rider's Glen, New Appaloosa, and Galloping Gulch. Additionally, there are a few hidden locations waiting to be discovered. These neighborhoods boast spacious open areas and lots, specifically designed for Sims to effortlessly travel on horseback from one place to another.

Horses are undeniably the main attraction of the new pack. Similar to cats and dogs, these magnificent creatures can be fully customized and become cherished members of the household. They can be adopted, purchased, or even bred. In the Create-A-Sim feature, players can adorn their horses with a wide range of tack, selecting from a whopping collection of over 30 horse breeds. These majestic companions can possess up to three distinct traits, while players can enhance their agility, jumping, endurance, and temperament through skill progression. Moreover, Sims themselves can advance in their horse-riding expertise and take part in various thrilling horse competitions held in the picturesque Chestnut Ridge.

Country music, line dancing, western-style home decor, Native American-inspired cuisine, and more. Chestnut Ridge offers a diverse range of properties, including charming farmhouse-inspired cottages and grand Colorado-inspired mansions, all set on spacious lots for players to create their own ranch. In addition to owning horses, players can now also acquire miniature goats and sheep, which not only serve as adorable companions, but also aid in gardening by eating weeds and bugs. These animals can also be sheared and milked for Simoleons if players have the 'Cottage Living' expansion pack. For those who prefer a helping hand with ranch management, a farmhand can be hired through the town's Community Board.

In addition to animal care, Sims can also engage in nectar-making. They can crush harvested fruits to create Nectar, which can be stored or aged for increased value. Once finished, Nectar can be stored and displayed in a nectar rack. Sims can either drink Nectar directly from the bottle or pour it to share with others. The pack also includes various western-themed Create-A-Sim items, as well as new traits like 'Rancher' and 'Horse Lover', and aspirations like 'Championship Rider' and 'Expert Nectar-Maker'.

While horses are the main focus of the pack, The Sims 4's Horse Ranch pack also offers new features such as Country music and line dancing, western build items and decor, Native American-inspired recipes, and more, providing an exciting experience for players.

The Sims 4's Horse Ranch Expansion Pack launches July 20 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
