To learn the Horse Riding Skill in The Sims 4, players need to have an adult horse that is capable of being ridden. While owning a foal can be rewarding, they are not yet big enough to be ridden. Therefore, players must either wait for them to grow up or acquire an adult horse.

If a Sim is acquainted with an adult horse, they can interact with it and choose the Mount option to climb onto its back. From there, they can select the ride option and embark on a relaxed, energetic, or intense ride. Alternatively, they can choose a specific location and command the horse to walk, trot, or canter there. Any of these actions will automatically unlock the Horse Riding Skill.

Children can ride horses, and they will gain the Motor Skill and the Horse Riding Skill simultaneously.
