Although content updates may not be coming out as frequently as they used to, Maxis is still working on The Sims 4 alongside the development of The Sims 5. Their European studio, which opened in 2019, is collaborating with their Texas branch to ensure that The Sims 4 remains engaging and fresh for its dedicated fanbase. With 13 expansions and 12 game packs already released, the gameplay of The Sims 4 is already quite varied and well-developed. However, there has always been a noticeable gap in terms of pets and animals that many Sims fans have been waiting to see filled.
Online marketplaces, including CDKeys and Instant Gaming, have leaked information about the upcoming expansion for The Sims 4. This new content update, called Horse Ranch, will offer players the chance to create and care for their own horses, as well as interact with them in unique ways. While the leak does not confirm whether horses will be considered full household members like cats and dogs, it can be assumed that they will function similarly.
