Clive gains access to a range of potent Eikonic abilities as he progresses through the main story of Final Fantasy 16. However, not all abilities can be used immediately upon obtaining an Eikon; some must be purchased for combat and players need to acquire Ability Points first. There are multiple ways to acquire Ability Points, but a substantial amount is required to unlock the Flames of Rebirth ability.
While Clive cannot transform into a Phoenix, he possesses the ability to summon the fiery bird for devastating attacks. The Flames of Rebirth is arguably Clive's most formidable Phoenix ability, but it can only be unlocked once a specific point in Final Fantasy 16's narrative is reached.
What Does The Flames Of Rebirth Ability Do?
When activated, the Flames of Rebirth ability envelops Clive in flames, causing damage to all nearby enemies. This ability is essential when facing large groups of adversaries. Additionally, it replenishes Clive's health if it is running low.
The only drawback of the Flames of Rebirth is its lengthy cooldown period after each use. To increase its frequency, players can equip The Breath of Fire (Flames of Rebirth) accessory, which reduces the ability's cooldown by twelve seconds.
How To Unlock Flames Of Rebirth
Upon completing the main quest Sunrise, Sunset and starting Lost in a Fog, players can access the Flames of Rebirth ability. To unlock it for Clive, go to the Abilities tab in the pause menu, hover over the Flames of Rebirth bubble, and press and hold the X button.
Players need to spend 1,695 Ability Points to unlock the Flames of Rebirth ability. Once unlocked, it can be assigned to Clive's Eikon loadout through the Gear and Eikons tab.
How To Upgrade And Master Flames Of Rebirth
Starting from "At its base level,"
Players can enhance the power of the Flames of Rebirth ability by upgrading it in the Abilities tab. By investing 2,390 Ability Points, Clive gains the capability to unleash an extra attack when activating the ability.
To fully master the Flames of Rebirth ability, players must be willing to spend 4,250 Ability Points. Once this upgrade is unlocked, the ability can be assigned to a different Eikon. However, it is a costly upgrade, so if players intend to keep the Phoenix assigned to Clive, it is advisable to refrain from purchasing it.
Players who are dissatisfied with the Flames of Rebirth ability have the option to Reset it in the Abilities tab and retrieve the Ability Points they had previously invested in it. Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
