Final Fantasy 16 offers players a range of sidequests to engage with while advancing through the main storyline, despite the game's somewhat linear nature compared to previous installments. These quests primarily revolve around Clive, who encounters various challenges within the realm and makes efforts to address them.

Among the sidequests in Final Fantasy 16, "Cut From the Cloth" stands out as Clive embarks on a seemingly ordinary errand from the Hideout, only to face unexpected complications. In this quest, players are tasked with acquiring bolts of cloth to provide new clothing for recently liberated Branded individuals.

Cut From The Cloth Side Quest Walkthrough in Final Fantasy 16

The quest commences at the Hideaway following Clive and Jill's visit to Drake's Breath. Hortense, located near where Clive arrives upon fast traveling to the Hideaway, informs them that they have ordered two bolts of cloth - one red and one blue. They require someone without a brand to retrieve the order.

The cloth is intended for creating clothing for a pair of recently liberated Branded individuals who are currently wearing only rags. These individuals can be found nearby. Clive must make his way to Northreach and approach the Draper just outside the main gate in order to collect the order. Unfortunately, Clive faces the setback of the order being delayed due to the non-arrival of the wagon transporting the goods. Therefore, it is necessary for him to embark on a journey down the road to search for the missing delivery.

Clive ventures down the road in pursuit of the cart. Soon enough, he discovers the cart and its owner engaged in a perilous encounter with an unmistakable bandit. As the cart's owner implores Clive for assistance, the situation intensifies, prompting the summoning of reinforcements. In response, a menacing bandit wielding a formidable axe, fittingly named "Killer," abruptly emerges from the foliage adjacent to them.

The Killer enemy in the game fights like other heavy-axe wielding enemies, utilizing overhead swings and horizontal spins with slow windup times. Players should time their dodges and chip away at Killer's health until he is staggered, then unleash Eikonic attacks to deal significant damage. A helpful strategy is to use Garuda's Deadly Embrace ability to topple Killer when his will is halfway depleted, providing an opportunity for additional attacks.

After defeating Killer and causing the other bandit to flee, Clive and the merchant can return to the Draper to collect the order. As a gesture of gratitude, the Draper includes some additional high-quality cuts of meat. With the mission accomplished, Clive can now make his way back to the Hideaway to report in.

After Hortense receives the Cloth at the Hideaway, she inquires Clive about the additional materials. Once informed about the story behind them, she proceeds to question Clive about his preference. It is currently unclear whether this choice holds any immediate significance, although it may have consequences throughout the game, which have not been documented thus far.
