Final Fantasy 16, developed by Square Enix, is an extraordinary action RPG that has garnered immense praise for its demo. With the highly anticipated full release on the horizon, expectations are soaring. Notably, Final Fantasy 16 has undergone significant changes to its combat mechanics, bidding farewell to the turn-based system.
In this latest installment, players engage in real-time battles, granting them the opportunity to experiment with a myriad of attack combinations. Whether opting for melee, magic, or Eikonic abilities, players have the freedom to strategically dismantle their adversaries. While offensive maneuvers undoubtedly play a crucial role in Final Fantasy 16, skillfully evading enemy attacks is equally imperative.
How to Dodge in FF16
Dodging in Final Fantasy 16 is a skill that players can utilize to protect Clive from enemy attacks that could potentially be fatal. Pressing the R1 button allows players to execute dodges, with the timing determining whether it will be a regular dodge or a precision dodge.
A regular dodge enables Clive to evade attacks without any additional advantages. On the other hand, a precision dodge not only avoids the attack but also slows down the opponent's movement speed, providing players with the perfect opportunity to launch a counterattack. Mastering the precision dodge may prove challenging and time-consuming, but the added damage it inflicts is undoubtedly worth the effort.
After successfully evading an enemy's attack with a precision dodge, a notification will appear on the right side of the screen. From there, players have the option to counterattack by choosing between the Square button for a melee attack known as Precision Counter or the Triangle button for a ranged attack called Precision Counter Shot.
Players are presented with a plethora of options to choose from, providing them with a positive array of choices. Particularly when faced with formidable foes boasting high HP, players are granted the chance to execute a visually striking evasion maneuver.
Upon inflicting a specific level of damage on an adversary, a brief sequence initiates, prompting players to swiftly press the R1 button. The window of opportunity to execute this action is quite narrow, requiring players to act promptly. Successfully evading the enemy's attack in this cinematic maneuver will promptly stagger them, resulting in an augmenting damage output with each subsequent strike, potentially reaching a staggering 150%. Final Fantasy 16 is scheduled for release on June 22, 2023, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
