Pokemon Egg Hatching Tips:
Fennkin, the Fire-type starter from the Kalos Region in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, evolves into Delphox, a powerful Fire/Psychic dual-type. Exciting news is that the Fennekin-line is now able to be paired with Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, after much anticipation.
Methods of Getting Fennkin, Braixen, and Delphox
: Obtaining Fennkin and its evolutions in the wild may prove to be a challenge. However, there exist a few methods to acquire a Fennkin in your Pokemon Scarlet/Violet file. The exciting prospect of Pokemon HOME compatibility even enables players to begin their journey with a Fennekin by their side.Fennekin and its evolutions can currently be obtained in Pokemon GO through transfer, trading, or breeding Delphox from the temporary 7-star Tera Raid. Although Fennekin is not found in Paldea, there is a chance it will be included in the upcoming Teal Mask & Indigo Disk expansion pack. In Sword/Shield, the Expansion Pack introduced new Pokemon and brought back Pokemon from previous generations. Therefore, it is highly likely that Scarlet/Violet's DLC will follow the same pattern.
For now, here's what players will need to do in order to get their own Fennkin:
Catch Fennekin in Pokemon GO (Transfer with Pokemon HOME)
Pokemon GO and Pokemon HOME are available for free download on mobile devices, as well as the Switch for HOME. To complete the Pokedex, it is strongly advised to install Pokemon GO. Upon linking their GO account to HOME, players gain the ability to transfer their Pokemon from GO to a console or mainline game whenever desired.
To transfer Fennekin to HOME, follow these steps:
Tap the Poke Ball icon on the main screen.
Select Settings at the top-right corner of the screen.
Look for and select Connected Devices and Services.
Choose Pokemon HOME. If players have not done so yet, they will need to input their Pokemon HOME info to formally link their account.
Tap the "Send Pokemon" option. Players will be able to perform a Transfer if they possess sufficient GO Transport Energy. The amount of Energy available depends on the specific Pokemon.
Next, tap on "Continue" and proceed to locate Fennekin (or its evolutions).
Tap Next and then Transport.
Now, to get the Fennekin from HOME to Scarlet/Violet, follow these steps:
On the homescreen, open up Pokemon HOME.
Select the Pokemon GO icon to Receive Pokemon. These will be moved to the Basic Box or any other Box that has enough space.
Access the Storage menu and choose Scarlet/Violet from the available Pokémon games. Then, locate the Fennekin in the Basic Box on the left side of the screen and transfer it to one of the PC Boxes in Scarlet/Violet on the right side of the screen by dragging it.
Press + and choose to Save and Exit.
Exit out of HOME and open up Scarlet/Violet. Fennekin should appear in whichever PC Box it was stored in through HOME.
If trainers need storage in Pokemon HOME, they'll need to buy a Premium Pass/subscription. This will need to be renewed once a month if players want to keep it.
Trade Pokemon
Nintendo Online Membership allows players to trade with others. The membership costs $3.99 for a month and automatically renews. To manage the automatic renewal, click on the User Icon located in the top-left corner of the Nintendo Switch EShop. From there, select Nintendo Switch Online and choose Terminate Automatic Renewal under the Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership.
To trade with someone in Scarlet/Violet:
Open the menu with X-button. Tap L-button to link online.
Select Poke Portal and choose the type of Trade (ex, * Link Trade, Surprise Trade).
* Choosing a Link Trade will have players Set Link Code to give to another player to initiate the trade.
It may be easier for Scarlet/Violet players to trade with someone that they know have a Fennekin in the PC.
7-Star Delphox Raid
From July 14 to July 16, a Fairy-type Terastalized Delphox was featured in 7-star Raids. However, it hasn't made a comeback as a 7-star Raid in Scarlet/Violet, making this method currently outdated. Since the 7-star Delphox is a Fairy-type, it is immune to Dragon-types and resistant to Fighting and Dark-type moves, which happens to be one of Delphox's weaknesses. Additionally, Fairy-type Terastalized Delphox will receive normal damage from Water and Ground-type moves.
Watch out for Delphox's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed when facing it in battle. Aim for moves that cause physical damage and exploit its Fairy-type weaknesses, such as Steel or Poison moves. However, be cautious as Delphox can counter these weaknesses with its Fire and Psychic-type moves. If you successfully defeat the Raid Delphox, you'll have an opportunity to capture it.
How to Get Fennekin Eggs
Players can breed Delphox by pairing it with either a Ditto, another Delphox, or another Pokemon that belongs to the same Egg Group such as Pyroar or Torkoal. It is important to note that if players choose to breed via Egg Groups, the Fennekin must be a female in order to ensure that the hatched Egg will contain a Fennekin.
In order to breed Pokemon, players must arrange a Picnic by choosing the Picnic option from the Menu (X-button):
Include the Fennekin/Braixen/Delphox in the party accompanied by a compatible Pokemon.
Prepare for the picnic by creating a sandwich infused with the energizing properties of Egg Power. An exemplary sandwich with a level 2 boost of Egg Power is the esteemed Great Peanut Butter Sandwich. In general, incorporating sweet ingredients into a sandwich is a reliable way to harness the power of Eggs.
Inspect the Egg Basket positioned conveniently near the Picnic Table to collect Eggs. The basket is capable of accommodating a maximum of 10 Eggs at any given time.
Pokemon have a tendency to produce a greater number of Eggs when they are partnered with another Pokemon that possesses a Trainer ID distinct from theirs. This mechanism applies even to those that have been transferred from Pokemon GO, as their ID will inevitably differ from the Trainer ID of Scarlet or Violet.
Pokemon Egg Hatching Tips
Upon acquiring the Fennekin Eggs, players are ready to initiate the hatching process. Differing from the methodology employed in GO, Scarlet/Violet solely necessitates that the Pokemon Eggs remain within the party. The duration needed for an Egg to hatch variates depending on the specific Pokemon.
To expedite the hatching process of Eggs, it is advantageous to activate the Egg Power Meal Effect and have a Pokemon possessing the Flame Body Ability. In the case of the latter, there is no requirement for the Eggs to be in close proximity to the Flame Body-Pokemon within the player's party. Notable Pokemon endowed with the Flame Body Ability consist of Fletchinder (including Talonflame) and the Larvesta-line. By driving around on Koraidon/Miraidon utilizing either of these effects, or even a combination of the two, the Eggs will swiftly hatch. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are now accessible on the Nintendo Switch.
