Kirara is a new addition to the Genshin Impact roster, wielding a Dendro Sword and specializing in summoning powerful shields for herself and her allies. Her Elemental Burst also boasts high scaling for Dendro damage, making her a force to be reckoned with in combat. However, what truly sets Kirara apart is her unique Elemental Skill, which transforms her into an Urgent Neko Parcel and grants her enhanced mobility for exploration purposes.

Despite the strength of her kit, some players may question the value of investing in Kirara's constellations. While they do provide additional benefits beyond simply increasing her existing abilities, it ultimately depends on personal preference whether or not they are worth the investment.

While Kirara is playable at C0, her later constellations add intriguing gameplay elements like improved Dendro application and Elemental DMG Bonus for the whole team. Players who focus on her shielding skills don't need to worry about unlocking her constellations. However, those looking for a more versatile support character might want to invest in her later constellations. It's worth mentioning that her early constellations don't offer significant added value, and players may need to spend a considerable number of Primogems. Luckily, as a 4-star character, her constellations are relatively more accessible over time, as she isn't a limited character. Players can gradually acquire her constellations over time if they choose to do so.

In any event, her fourth and sixth constellations are the most valuable, whereas the first and second constellations aren't as critical for her.

With the Material Circulation constellation, Kirara will be able to generate additional Cat Grass Cardamom when using her Secret Art: Surprise Dispatch, based on her maximum HP. This means that with 8,000 Max HP, she can create an extra Cat Grass Cardamom, up to a maximum of four. While this can certainly come in handy for burst-support functions and Dendro application, it doesn't add significant value since the smaller particles' damage do not scale as well as her Burst explosion damage.

Players who often play co-op and have acquired Baizhu, a shielding Dendro character, may have noticed that his Ultimate ability does not provide shields to other team members. Kirara's second constellation attempts to address this issue but in a convoluted manner. She must crash into her co-op teammates to grant them Critical Transport Shields, which can absorb Dendro DMG with 250% effectiveness and last for 12 seconds. However, this constellation is niche and lacks significant value in challenging end-game content like the Spiral Abyss. As a result, it is not as versatile as Kirara's other constellations.

Kirara's fourth constellation is a valuable addition to her kit, allowing for coordinated attacks when the active character has a shield generated by Kirara and performs normal, charged, and plunging attacks. This makes her a more viable option for team compositions that prioritize Dendro elemental reactions. It's important to note that Kirara's effect has a 3.8-second cooldown, making it slower than some other characters but still useful for generating Dendro Cores or triggering spread reactions.

Kirara's final constellation is a game-changer for any team as it provides a significant boost to Elemental DMG for all nearby party members. This buff lasts for 15 seconds after Kirara uses her Elemental Skill or Burst, making it a long-lasting and effective addition to any fight. With her short cooldowns, Kirara can easily maintain this buff throughout the battle with minimal effort. Players who unlock her fourth constellation should consider obtaining her fifth and sixth constellations to fully utilize her support abilities beyond her excellent shielding capabilities.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
